Day 29 - Current t.v show obsession
Doctor Who
I am completely obsessed with the new BBC series of Doctor Who, and have enjoyed watching Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant and Matt Smith taking on the title role over the last few years. I have also enjoyed watching the Doctor's new assistants - Rose, Martha, Donna, Amy and now (evidently), Rory. I enjoyed watching episodes when I was young (before the show went off the air), and I used to go around the school playground pretending that I was a dalek.
The new version has a good mixture of comedy and drama in most episodes, and I have especially enjoyed Steven Moffat's handling of the latest series; at times it got a little crazy, particularly with the series finale, but it was awesome and watchable all the same. I also love the way that the writers will put in a plot that develops slowly throughout the series, such as Rose starting to appear in the real world after she got stuck in the parallel universe, and the recent thread with the cracks in time.
I like the fact that the new version of Doctor Who has also led to its own spinoffs - the adult version, Torchwood - and the kids' version - The Sarah Jane Adventures. Hopefully, Matt Smith will stick around for several series in his role as the Doctor.
