Lockdown, Day #203

Oct 12, 2020 21:21

I had the day off work today; I spent probably too much of it playing Paper Mario, but I did do some sorting out of mess in my flat, and got a chapter or so of my book written (I edit as I write because I spot plot holes and continuity errors forming).

I called the electrician to arrange for him to come around, and after taking a while to get through, and some communication difficulties, I sorted out that he will come this Friday, which is great as I'm tired of just having a small lamp to let me see where I'm going in my lounge at night.

As I watched the early evening TV, I realised I'd missed a phone call by the last ring; I got a message, and realised it was the pharmacist downstairs (I'd spotted it was a local number, and was hoping it was the dentist finally calling to give me an appointment). It turns out that I can't have my flu jab tomorrow because of them being short-staffed; I've managed to reschedule for during the day on Thursday now.

Boris did another press conference this evening; these things always sound ominous, but I watched some of it anyway. He, Richi Sunak and Chris Whitty, were outlining their plans for going forward and the new Coronavirus alert system, and how we will soon be able to use GOV.UK to find out about social distancing measures in our area.

It feels like Coronavirus won't be going away too fast.
