I spent a lot of the day at Battersea Park for the Diamond Jubilee Festival; the weather was pretty poor, and the trains were predictably crowded, but it was good fun when we got there, even though someone decided to hover by a bench so they could bag it and didn’t bother to move even though we were walking towards it wanting somewhere to sit with the food we had just bought.
There was no way we could have seen the pageant on the Thames because too many people got there before us so we had to settle for the big screen, but tall people kept standing in front of us - I had to leave early to get to church, and I ended up helping with set up and welcoming, but I spent some of the time waving around the flag that I bought with the Queen’s face on it. It was a good day; I just wish the weather could have been nicer.
