December Kindness: Empty Chairs
I've just spent Christmas at Mum's house, just aiming to be kind to the rest of the family, and myself, not beating myself about all of the "could haves" that I only thought of later on, and friends I've not caught up with yet.
The new photo_scavenger prompt is "Christmas", so here's Mum's Christmas tree (outstanding: Countdown).
We also spotted this on our Christmas Day walk.
We've been thinking about all the "empty chairs" that would once have been filled by relatives who are no longer with us, coming to visit for Christmas; lots of people who I miss.
We managed another walk on Boxing Day, and I got distracted by the sound a car made driving over a plastic bottle left in the road. I picked up the bottle and found a bin to throw it in to.
We spent Boxing Day afternoon playing some of the games that we'd not played before, including my new Taskmaster game that I got as a present.
Now that I'm back at home, I need to think about messaging family and friends who are abroad, let them know I'm thinking of them (there's a guy I need to contact in case he's aroud for the next First Saturday of the Month 5k). Plus there's that friend who lives nearby, who I've been meaning to contact for a while to see if I can arrange a meetup. Then, I'll be meeting friends later to watch the game between Arsenal and Ipswich.
On Strava, I have completed the December Streak Challenge and the L'Oreal Men Expert Festive 5km Challenge. I have climbed 985m for the December Running Elevation Challenge (no chance of finishing this) and I've logged of 1 of 4 days for a new challenge: Unlock The Run - Pro Direct x adidas; this requires one walk/run activity of at least 20 minutes per day.
