Optimistic October: Can't We Just Skip to the Good Stuff?

Oct 01, 2024 18:55

On a miserable wet day, we start Optimistic October.

Despite the rain, I did go out for a walk with Mum, but just visited a shop and then I took her in a cafe that I've been visiting occasionally.

Work was just necessary but monotonous tasks; my sister did pass on an oreo coke, which I enjoyed, though.

I'm just thinking about the things this month I'm looking forward to:
1) Leading (at the moment) 23 others on a hike this weekend, some of us starting off with a pub breakfast;
2) Bowling with church friends the day after; and
3) Friday night karaoke in a few weeks' time.

I have started several new challenges on Strava today:
* Fuel Up with HelloFresh (41 minutes of 3 hours and 20 minutes);
* Kohler Run/Walk for Safe Water (3km of 20km);
* Get Active & Get Therapy With BetterHelp and October Ten Days Active Challenge (both require one 15 minute long activity per day, and I've logged 1 of 10 days for each);
* October 5K x Brooks Challenge (no progress);
* October Walk 30K Challenge (3km);
* October Running Elevation Challenge (31m for 2,000m); and
* October 400-Minute Challenge (41 minutes of 6 hours and 40 minutes).

The latest photo_scavenger prompt is: Five.
