Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
I've not forgotten about all those ohnotheydidnt film challenges, from before when they seemed to disappear. Way back in Febraury 2021 they did mention watching a film that the Screen Actors Guild Nominated for Best Ensemble.
As well as scooping a bunch of Oscars, this film did get the Best Ensemble Nomination from S.A.G.
It's been ages since I last watched this film, so there were a bunch of scenes that stood out really well ("you shall NOT PASS" is the most famous), but there was a lot of stuff I'd misremembered about the film completely, particularly the fact that Gollum barely appears. He's in a flashback at the start, and seems to be watching the main characters in the mines, but other than that he's completely absent.
It was really good to re-watch this film, and watch the whole relationship unfold again between Frodo and Gandalf; I'm quite thankful that Gandalf survived for the second and third films in the trilogy after that apparently tragic scene ("run, you fools").
The ending has grown on me, though for some reason the whole boat scene was something I thought didn't happen until the climax of The Two Towers.

3. Watch any movie that has featured on the How Did This Get Made podcast.
6. Watch any movie that features an actor/actress that started out on reality TV - a link with examples is on Letterboxd, the source is banned :(
July 2021
1. Directors sometimes hate their own movies, maybe studio interference or just plain ol' lack of talent (which they won't admit, but I'll gladly call them out for), watch any movie that has been hated on by the very director that made it (I linked ideas over at Letterboxd, but its from a banned source... so go over there for a link or google for ideas).
6. On July 16th Anthony Bourdain's documentary will be released, watch any movie he's previously called one of his favorites.
10. Using this list find a movie you've previously seen and liked and watch a movie that is in the same row and is apparently similar to the one you've previously liked.
June 2021
