Mindful March: Don't Bury Them

Mar 23, 2024 07:19

I'm doing really bad with holding on to my things lately; so not only have I managed to lose a brand new beanie (a gift nonetheless) recently, but yesterday I stopped off at a cafe while doing site visits. The guy was friendly, even pulled up a table outside for me to sit at.

Either here or at the spot I sat down later, I put my umbrella (also a present) down and didn't pick it up. I didn't even notice it was gone for at least five minutes, and when I did, I dashed back, hoping to find it somewhere. It wasn't there; I even asked at the cafe, and the guy denied seeing me with my umbrella - I really hope this doesn't mean he was being dishonest, and that it just means someone swiped it either when he wasn't looking, or in the other spot where I stopped to use my app.

For as long as I am aware, I have had a bad habit of putting things down, and just forgetting I had them on me, so walking away without them, often not realising for a long time. I ended up making the confession to family by text that I'd lost two of my presents from them in my carelessness.

I'm just trying to think about what went right - we had a nice chat, right, and also I managed to replace the umbrella at my local supermarket. The guys at work didn't have their badminton clothes, and I wasn't really in the mood for playing anyway, but I did have a quick chat about playing with my next door neighbour (considering that he doesn't even have a racquet, doesn't seem that likely).

I'm just trying to put the frustration behind me, and enjoy a trip to Bury St. Edmunds for a hike with Stag Walkers today. I'll tune into my emotions though, but let them pass without judgement.

On Strava, I have completed The MAAP Equinox Challenge, and climbed 912m for the March Running Elevation Challenge (I can't see myself completing this now, but who knows?)
