The Friday Five: I Want to Believe

Nov 18, 2023 19:30

1. What is something that you used to believe, but are glad you don't believe anymore?

I believed most things I was told as a kid. So, when I was young, I had wellington boots with Bananaman on, and another kid told me: "If you eat a banana, you'll turn into bananaman".

For whatever reason, I really didn't want to turn into Bananaman, so refused to eat bananas for ages, I even rejected one in my lunchbox on a school trip, and it ended up turning black.

For FYI, here's Bananaman!

2. Is there something you wish you still believed? What?

I wish I still believe Santa was real; I used to be convinced for years that he'd come down the chimney to deliver presents - until I was nine anyway, when I had it explained to me why he couldn't possibly get all around the world in one night.

3. What experience or person taught you the most about life?

I think probably my Mum; she's good at teaching me worldly wisdom.

4. What area of life would you like to know or understand more about?

I always want to learn more about good social skills and how to connect with others; I'm getting better, but sometimes my aspergers holds me back, and makes me not understand people.

5. What is your most valuable lesson about life so far?

Not sure, really - maybe that it's always good to have time to myself, and that I shouldn't constantly get FOMO when I'm not out doing stuff.
