Self-Care September: The Root of True Self-Confidence (Tenth Part of the Icknield Way Hike)

Sep 02, 2023 20:36

I had another pleasant swim yesterday morning; it's become a nice summer routine.

I have been helping to recce one of the Icknield Way hikes today, mostly because I can't make the scheduled date. I've been trying to notice what I do well, even small things.

It seems that I have a good photographic memory, which helped us when we found the spot when we joined the Icknield Way walk; I think I did well with my help with the navigation.

I'm also good at spotting things, so I spotted that the train we were aiming for was skipping our stop, which meant that we had to go one stop and catch a taxi the rest of the way. The driver was friendly though, and interested in our hike.

We had a surprise near the end as we passed a building site, and a loud alarm started going off, with a klaxon and a recorded message telling us that "your presence has been reported", although we were in no way trespassing.

On Strava, I have now completed two challenges: CamelBack Redefine Limits Run Challenge, and a new one, Le Col Threshold 240 Challenge (required 4 hours of activity).

I have walked 26km of 50km for the September Walking Distance Challenge, and climbed:
* 912m for the Brooks GOAT Challenge; and
* 236m of 2,000m for the September Run Climbing Challenge.
