Memory Post #718/Meaningful May: A Turning Point

May 26, 2023 09:13

So, back in 2018, a friend invited some of us on a hike with Stag Walkers, and I joined the walk. I was nervous at first, unsure whether to approach the ramblers at the meeting point, until I spotted my friend and I found myself getting on well with the other people on the group. We had a short walk, stoppinf at a pub for a while.

I soon after joined the ramblers, and joined the group permanently. It was a really good decision; it was great to get a social group who I can do stuff with at weekends, and occasionally after work. I think it's been great for my mental health too, just getting out and doing things rather than frittering around at home.
