It's been a nice day; I started work early, so I didn't feel too awkward about having a mid-morning break to meet some of the guys for a coffee before I had to get to a teams meeting, postponed from yesterday.
First of all though, there was the matter of getting my shopping delivered; this was randomly in the bags with the rest of the stuff, and I gave them to Mum to plant.
Right now I thought of Leia at the end of Rogue One:
A funny thing happened in the coffee shop; I was going back out to the terrace after ordering my cappuccino, and I stood to one side to make way for a man coming in; he started asking me something random.
I was a bit confused, so I replied: "Excuse me?"
"Do you work here?" he replied.
It must have been my cropped trousers that made me look like a member of staff - its one of those trendy places run by millennials.
I had a nice coffee, though spotted the weird sight down the road of someone in a full body costume - some sort of blue man group type character - handing out leaflets; it was very random.
I also made myself a list of things that make me joyful:
Tom was doing a talk on his new book tonight; Mum and I went to the local bookshop together. Mum really enjoyed the talk, and found him very interesting. I of course ended up behind the tallest person in the audience, who sat there even when his girlfriend complains about being at the front. The book is all about ships; it sounds interesting, and I enjoyed his one on lighthouses.
I've logged 17 hours and 51 minutes for the Red Bull 24h Chrono Challenge on Strava.
