New Ways November: A Bit Too Much

Ben Parkes' video on improving your form gave me a couple of good ideas for the first Saturday of the Month 5k, though I have usually ended my runs with a sprint to the finish. I drew the line at running barefoot, but I tried - hoping I didn't make a fool of myself - leaning forward briefly as I started to run. It wasn't my best time - getting stuck behind dog walkers a couple of times and having to sort out my laces a few times didn't help, and I won't wear my thick hoodie again, as I think that made it harder.

This is also the first time that my smartwatch has told me that my exertion was "excessive"; I needed a sit down when I finished the race. I don't intend to join next month's run, where everyone dresses at Santa; I think I would really make a fool of myself. It seems that the one after will be on New Years' day, so it looks like I won't be doing the run again until February.

I have managed to almost complete the 66 Degrees North and Le Col Strava Challenges for November, and have managed to log over 10 hours for the 30 Hour Challenge.

I'm going to have a rest now for the next few hours, before I join the Stag Walkers for a firework display tonight. The run did at least get me my daily one mile.
