I've had a great time at Center Parcs, with family - it was good to get away for a week. We got there okay, although we took a long route to avoid the M25 because of the incidents with Extinction Rebellion.
I enjoy going to their resorts, and I liked the chance to get a break, and get away from all of it. I'll go through a few highlights:
The Escape Room - We didn't finish it; we were doing the harder room with three, while next door five people did the easier room. There was one task that required a lot of dexterity that we wasted a lot of time on, and it was unfortunate we couldn't have had double the length of time. I love the puzzle solving aspect of the escape rooms.
Swimming - We always go swimming while at Center Parcs - the Wild Water Rapids seemed to have been tamed a bit though; at parts I couldn't get any traction, whereas in the past we used to whizz along the whole ride. I almost had an accident - I didn't see someone who was swimming underwater until I crashed into her; I was taken by surprise.
There were a few incidents on Wednesday's visit; first off, the lifeguard evacuated the outdoor pool without much explanation, and later on, there was an incident at the Typhoon/Cyclone rides - every single lifeguard (or so it seemed) was running towards them, just as we contemplated going on, and both rides were shut down. We finally got our chance to do those rides this morning, just before we went home.
The spa: I feel great after a spa session, and although the spa was quite busy, with people once stealing the jacuzzis from under our noses, I came away feeling very refreshed and relaxed.
The weather let us down a couple of times, but otherwise we had a great time.
I'll finish with a picspam, and my final Doodlewash pictures.
I managed a good shot of a squirrel - I also noticed that they had a Christmas tree up in the village square; it is possibly up all year.
