Altruistic August: Interactions

Aug 03, 2021 08:56

I'm remembering to be kind and supportive with everyone I interact with today; I think much of that will be via zoom at lunchtime, but I also had a brief hi to two women on my morning walk (about 4k, extended because I got stuck walking behind a quite slow person). I wonder what I can be supportive about, I think maybe my best option will be to show an interest in anything they say.

Feeling kindness towards everyone is still feeling difficult, especially when last night I found two young men/teenagers walking towards me in anything but a straight line because they were staring at their phones. I saw one of them later on, in the exact same road he'd been in earlier, only walking the other way, still with a phone out. It sometimes feels that I'm the only one who can look at a phone and still pay attention to my surroundings.

I may end up at board game night this evening, depending if anyone I know is there; I got a text yesterday about them having a "kickster day" and I have no idea what that means, or whether autocorrect was involved and it was meant to say something else.

So far, I have:
*Completed the Breitling x Ironman Challenge (one success);
*Walked 15 of 50km for the August Strava Walking Challenge, and
*Logged 2 hours 33 minutes out of 5 hours for the "Bag Some Skratch" challenge.

A friend has asked if anyone wants to to a short holiday with him, but since he only gave us a day to think about it, and wants to go in a few weeks' time, I think I'll decline; I need time to think about these things.
