A mystery film for the May
ohnotheydidnt film challenge.
This started off looking like a simple kidnap film, as the central character attempted to find out who kidnapped her son, who wass seen at the beginning staggering into town, and appearing to be in shock. An arrest was made almost right away, and I could guess that the person arrested was innocent.
I noticed one particularly scary moment quite early on in the film, when the boy came downstairs in one scene, and saw a creepy figure outside; the scene could have been a horror film.
The film then turned to the mother attempting some vigilante justice on the man suspected of the kidnap, but then the film took a somewhat unexpected turn, which I won't spoil, save that it started to feel more like an Alfred Hitchcock film twist, with its cat-and-mouse type chase scenes, and I found the film even more engrossing.
Overall, a great film, full of unexpected plot twists that left me guessing.
