Mum has told me in the past that I should always find something to "be in awe" of, so I've been looking out for things today that I'm in awe of.
I'm going to have to say, first and foremost, nature, and just everything about it, just from looking out of my window while I work, watching a pigeon glide past, and thinking about how its wings allow it to stay airborne.
My walk today with Mum was good for looking out for examples too; the birds seemed exceptionally loud as we walked along.
I've possibly taken a picture of these trees before, but they look amazing, with the crimson blossom on them (and on the ground too).
Cow parsley; I've only recently begun to appreciate it.
The rec covered in a carpet of daisies.
We had a nice walk, and I managed my 30-minute daily walking goal once again.
A few other things to be in awe of:
My friends' strava workouts
Some of them put me to shame - I'll see them posting their 10k runs/100k cycle rides. I therefore try not to compare myself to them.
Other peoples' homes
Mostly when they are nicely-decorated; I've not taken pictures, just in case I got caught in the act, but some people really do make them look nice. Having a walk about town helps me to notice these things.
It's enough to make me wonder what these places are like inside.
There's also the moments when you notice the tucked-away bungalow that you walked past many times, without realising it was even there.
Umm - should I also be in awe at other people talk about not realising that everyone else can hear?
There seems to be a particular spot in town, where people always broadcast their "private" conversations to the world; today it was a woman arguing because she'd apparently been accused of hacking a friend's Instagram account, and was shouting stuff like, "No, I don't know your password!" (someone has pointed out that if someone knows the password, that's not "hacking", it's "logging on"). She may have been the same woman who I heard having a loud row about something else a few months ago in the same spot.
Work has been okay these last few days: My success today was figuring out what was wrong with some statistics, and fixing them.
These last few days have also been good for bumping into, and chatting to, neighbours who I inexlicably see very rarely, which is odd, because they live next door, or across the hallway.
