Hello

So I have been a busy boy the last little while. The last you heard from me i was finishing up my last year of school, finalizing components of my grad class' year end show and getting everything ready for the summer.

Well you are in for a fascinating read my friend. have i got stories for you. It will be broken into chapters for your reading pleasure.

HTML
My gruesome battle with html came to what I feel is a nice resolution, that being my website. however i forget how i obtained victory (or rather what code i entered to make it do what i wanted). All in all, I'm happy... for now

The Last Waltz Show
the show was UN-fucking-believably-awesome and yes, that is a word. everything went off without a hitch (for the most part). It was a bitter sweet event, making me realize the quality of artists and people i got to work with, and now had to leave. I will not lie, i am happy it is over and do not regret a thing.

UPS is brown for a reason...it's because they are poo
I was supposed to get a package, a very special, one could say magical package. It was to be delivered to the distillery, the location of my show, the day of the show. It was a box containing cards, These were promotional postcards. Bother UPS and the printers were given the necessary information to complete their mission, however they went A.W.O.L, presumably to sit in glee on how screwed i was. On the second day ups "failed to find recipient" 10 min before i told them to resend (witnesses claim that they did not even show). I realized now that i was not going to get the cards, so i ran to Staples and got rubber erasers, ink pads, a knife, package tags (with the cool hole). i returned to the my gallery and proceeded to cut out stamps and print about 150 promo cards (just call my MacGyver). I received my package one week later, they are safe with me. as far as i can tell it was a joint effort between UPS and the printers to screw me over. One held me down while the other...well i need not say why i walk funny.

You Have to Work for Money
So it was out of the pan and into the fire for this boy. I started my summer by signing on to two jobs. I returned to my house painting job for two days out of the week and working as a studio assistant for the remaining three. The painting job is the same as last year, a good workout, average pay, little guidance (good thing i know what I'm doing on a roof). the assistant job is great, i sit on my ass and perform miscellaneous task while learning the ropes of illustration, and i get paid and regular feedings. the only this is a killer commute, but there are worse this in live than go transit...right? all in all i was making allot of money but at the cost of free time.

How to Say a Memorable Goodbye... to a Grandmother who Cannot Remember.
My Grandmother is dying, she has cancer. If you feel i just drooped this on you imagine how i felt, or better yet, my mother. My grandmother Knight (mom's side) was diagnosed with alzheimer's about 5 or so years ago. She has been in a care center since. i got the news the Friday before mothers day, i got a train that Saturday. I was going for mom more than grandma Knight, this would be her last mothers day as a daughter. Lindsay (for those who do not know, is my girlfriend) was very compassionate with my about all this, especially since i had to miss our 6th month. The visit with grandma went beter than one could hope, they have her set up well and she is comfortable. i will remember my goodbye for the both of us.

i returned to oakville and ate Sushi with Lindsay, it was awesome

I got some illustration work and quite my job painting houses, it was just getting inefficient, sloppy and just not worth my time.

Blots... The festival release
I got a table at TCAF (Toronto Comic Arts Festival) with Matt, it was awesome, Owl magazine got one of my books, i got some fan mail, a guy gave me a script to read, three stores offered to sell my books, it was sooo cool. Jerk told Matt and i about it, and i ran to Staples the next day to make 30 copies.

OK, I'm tired, that's it for now... ennnnd scene
