The human world… I have grown far too attached to it. I care too deeply for those I have met there. They will fight to protect each other regardless of ability. It is their inner strength and resolve that empowers them, striving to protect their friends and family. I do not have such purity of heart. No… I am not deserving of knowing them. Chad, Ishida, Orihime… They are those close to my heart. I cannot abandon them by dying here. I will not fail them by allowing their world to be destroyed.

[She pauses, her gaze drifting downwards. She closes her eyes.]

…I was alone for some time. I focused on duties and doing as I was told. I was not close to any of those around me. I was ignorant. I did not know what it was my heart lacked.

[Her eyes open.]

My own carelessness led me to meeting Ichigo. Since then, nothing has been the same. I suppose… I am indebted to him, in that way.

He has proven himself selfless without fail. His true desire is to protect those he cares about. Although he appears to be outwardly rough… His strive to help others is true. His heart is sincere. That is something I know well. No… I do not doubt it.

I know he has endured hardship to protect those around him. I am not blind to the pain he has in his soul. I am responsible for the burdens he carries. If it were not for me, he would be living a normal, peaceful life. That is why his world must not be destroyed- I must allow him the chance to return to his own life. He deserves the chance to live in peace.
