At least we were told what was going on when we got here. The last time something like this happened to me, I was attacked.

Attacked, huh? That definitely beats my last time for immediate weirdness. I just managed to end up on a very sinister cruise ship.

[just...stares at the sphere for a moment. hi Lyle, it's Oliver. he's floating in an undersea temple. and he has gills. and webbed feet and hands! but he doesn't seem particularly interested in any of those things at the moment. oh, and by the way, he can talk underwater, too...as soon as he finds his voice]

Lyle!? Lyle, is that really you!?

[Lyle knows that voice! And he glances up at his sphere in surprise before his grin becomes wide enough to stretch from ear to ear. BFF, HE'S MISSED YOU.]

Oliver! You're back here too, huh? [... and then he gets a better look at the image of Oliver in his sphere.] Uh... are those gills?

[grins back because he has too, and that grin (rather impossibly) grows even wider when he realises that this is the SAME Lyle)]

Yeah! But I thought the Gate was done with you.

Oh. [sheepish] Yeah, uh...I think so. You know what this universe is like. But you probably want to stay out of the water, if you can avoid it.

I thought so too, but then I thought it was done with you as well.

[Lyle shakes his head.] Just right back into the water, huh... no pun intended. [Although it should be noted that as he's been talking to people, he's moved away from the medical bay. That song's pretty powerful stuff, after all. Meaning that his next words are slightly more strained as it becomes more difficult for him to breathe.] So... I guess that touching the water turns you into a fish?

[He is staring at his Sphere. Could it be? IT IS. Neil's grinning ear to ear as he bobs underwater, just outside the temple stairs.]

You want the long version or the short one?

[Lyle's grin widens into a full, genuine one when he sees his twin again, and he can't hold back a small chuckle when he replies.]

I'd like to know why we're all apparently underwater to start with.

It was getting harder and harder to breathe on land. Then there was this song... it was coming from the lake, this one I'm in. I followed it here and something inside said I should jump in to follow it, and I did. So, here I am.

[He spreads out his arms wide, revealing webbed hands.]

It was weird finding the webbed hands, the gills and everything at first, but I'm at least not going to drown down here.

So, you're saying it'd probably be better for me if I jumped in with you guys? [Because not to put too fine a point on it, but the further Lyle walks away from the medical bay, the more difficult it is for him to breathe...]

[Somewhere in the halls, stubbornly refusing to follow the song and jump into the lake is... Motoko. Even if getting caught in the rain a couple times is making it oddly hard to breathe.]

I did wonder if any more familiar faces would turn up.
