At least we were told what was going on when we got here. The last time something like this happened to me, I was attacked.

Attacked, huh? That definitely beats my last time for immediate weirdness. I just managed to end up on a very sinister cruise ship.

I'll take being informed of what's going on over being attacked by monsters any day. Dracula's castle is not a safe place to be.

Where I come from, Dracula was a very real threat for a very long time.

He's just a story where I come from. Still, I've done the "meeting people from alternate universes" thing enough before now that I'll believe what you're saying.

It's not the easiest thing to get used to. [He sighs] I'd only just been back home for two months before I got yanked right back here.

Two months? It hasn't been a year yet since I was brought to Dracula's Castle. So much can happen in a small amount of time.

[Not yet, anyway. And even if he did, he was friends with a vampire last time around. Strange how interdimensional travel changes your perception of things...]

Yeah. Long story short, last time I got pulled here was the first trouble with that Gate thing that we're chasing after now. We all got stuck in this time loop where we ended up always falling into a black hole at the end of it. 'Course, once we'd managed to fix it, I thought that'd be the end of all that, but I guess not, huh.

Still, "Dracula's castle" sounds more impressive to tell people than "sinister cruise ship".

Most people would think I'm crazy if they really knew what happened. Most people don't know that the stories are real.
