My thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the floods, not only in Queensland but Ashford (a small town about half an hour away from my hometown of Inverell) as well. Inverell was very lucky with the McIntyre River breaking its banks but not doing too much damage aside from closing two low-lying bridges in town
Thankfully the sun broke out through the clouds this afternoon and hopefully there will be no more rain for the foreseeable future and things can start to dry out. My nerves are a little jangled as my house is in a low-lying area of town, but thankfully the water didn't get anywhere near here. After surriving the 1991 floods, I never want to go through something like that again.
