All right, GDF! We've done pretty awesomely lately, mental train wrecks aside.  Lots of high powered baddies taken down, majority of threats to the earth are dealt with.  I can't help but feel that we're moving towards an endgame of sorts, dood.

I know no one else is going to ask it, so I'll just say it. The GDF is clearly the most dominant force ( Read more... )

You realize 'uniting the world by force' is exactly what we just now stopped A-LAWS from doing.

They had the misfortune of not being the most dominant force in the Earth Sphere, dood.

So the only difference between the GDF and A-LAWS, in your opinion, is our comparative levels of firepower?

An autonomous military group that answers only to those governing it, equipped with unique and advanced mobile suits, elite pilots, and special permissions from the world's governments.

The biggest difference is that there's no shady deals or zealous devotion...that we're aware of, dood. But here's the real question, dood...who does the GDF work for? Who funds all this? Where do our orders come from, dood?

You're a high rank, so I'd assume you, at least, could tell me that, dood.

I came in from another organization, technically, but I do know the answer. We answer directly to UES President Vayne, as far as I can tell. Hence why I can take the Assembly building hostage for a few minutes and not get in too much trouble.

But the point is, the fact that we don't try to enforce agreements with force of arms is itself a major difference. If you try to force peace down peoples' throats, more groups will rise up to resist you just on principle. Humans desire independence and self-determination.

Independence and self determination, huh...

I guess it's a good thing there's no Overlords here to force them to do otherwise, dood.

That's what our enemies often try to become - Overlords of this world. The GDF remains one of the few groups with a remotely tolerable moral outlook...although I can agree with Aeolia Schoenberg's ideas. Spreading humanity out to space on a larger scale would solve innumerable problems, including most reasons sane people go to war.
