Well, it's not a full-time position, but starting November 26th I am going to be in a long-term sub position for 3 months because there is a teacher going on maternity leave. I am very happy about it- it's at my dad's school, and the school I went to for elementary school. I have been subbing there almost everyday for this school year and so I was going to be very upset if they didn't give it to me! I had to interview with someone at the school board first (they call it a screening interview) and then I had an interview with the principal and assistant principal at the school. They called me the evening of my interview and offered me the position. So, from Novemeber 26- February 3rd I will be the teacher in a 3rd grade classroom. We told the teacher today that I was going to be her sub and she was really excited, which was nice. All of the other teachers that I have been subbing for are upset because they are sad to be losing me as their subs. Hearing that from everyone has been the highest form of a compliment. Everyone just keeps telling me, and my dad, how wonderful I am. I also started today, and will be working with up until I start the 3rd grade position, with a student who is in 2nd grade who is special ed. I am working with him one-on-one because he started out the year in a regular ed. classroom, but just could not handle it. His parents are in the process of trying to get him into a special ed. school in Coatesville, but until then I am working with him one-on-one in a conference room in the office. Today was my first day, and it was a wonderful day, but I have a feeling the next two weeks with him are really going to be a challenge. So.... I am so excited to finally have something that's a little bit more permanent (and pays so much more) than what I've been doing. Both of these things will look great on my resume and I am hoping that since a few teachers in this school are retiring after this year, that I may be considered for one of their spots! We'll see! :-)
