I apologize for neglecting my LiveJournal for so long, but I've been surprisingly busy the last few weeks. The first major newsbreak that I think everyone is now aware of is that I got a new baby! He's a teacup chihuahua and he weighs less than two pounds. I'm so in love, but let me tell you, he's a handful! Since he's so young (3 months), we're still working on learning the word no, learning not to nip and of course the big one, potty training. The past five days I've been getting up every couple hours to take him to his wee wee pad so he doesn't wet himself in his little bed. Not to mention he needs a ton of loving and when I leave he cries for me. It's just like having a newborn, infact my mom says it's practice. I never realized how much a puppy could demand of you.

In other news, I've been working on the job search without much luck just yet. I was offered a marketing internship in Ft. Lauderdale at this high-end jewelry boutique which would have been great except they didn't offer any benefits and they only wanted to pay me $200 a week. I tried to talk them up and said I would accept for $350 a week, but that was out of their budget. If it was a local position, I probably would have accepted at $200 a week, but this job was about an hour away with traffic and with rising gas prices and the tolls and whatnot, it just wasn't worth it for me to work and come out with like $50 profit for a whole week. Next I was offered a full time job at this small search engine marketing firm in Boca, but I won't be accepting that either. This place, the people were nice, but the company is just awful. Their purpose is to plan promotions, bribe people into giving the company their e-mail address and then selling that address out to other companies so they can inundate these poor people with e-mails. I know as a consumer that is completely annoying, so how could I work for them and thus promote that practice? Not to mention, the money was a little low again and I just couldn't see myself there. So it's back to square one, but I'm trying to tell myself that is okay because I haven't been searching too long and there's no reason to grab. I'm going to start looking into the event/wedding planning route, seeing if there are any businesses locally that would hire a part-time assistant for the summer. I would really love to do that! I'll keep updating as things develop.

Aside from job searching and puppy caring, I've been doing a lot of summer cleaning around the house, running a million errands, trying to find time to go to the gym and spending lots of time with my family which is nice. I have a few friends from high school home right now, but they are all slowly leaving to do their various internships and summer vacations, so it's going to get really lonely really quickly. I'm going to look into joining a temple and maybe a Jewish singles group to start meeting people and I'm finally going to finish my Mensa application. Hopefully I'll be getting out and about in the near future and getting my social life back on track.
