Holiday catch up, etc.
Christmas was fantastic as it always is back home in Santa Fe. Loved seeing my family, albeit only a few members at home this year. Of course this was the first year since my Dad passed away so he was noticeably absent, his wife and my baby brother went to South Carolina to visit her parents. So it was only my Mom, and brothers but it was very quality time. I went skiing a couple of days up at Pajarito Mountain (Los Alamos) and the Santa Fe Ski Basin. Both were awesome this year as we finally got substantial snow early. Powder conditions up at Santa Fe that I haven't seen in at least several years. Bitterly cold, so much so that I got a very minor case of frostbite on my chin but nothing so serious as to require medical attention.
Now, to honor my Dad's memory I have arranged for my sister and I to fly to New Mexico on Friday, January 25th just for the weekend. I arrive at ABQ Friday evening from DC and my sister from SLC around the same time. We will drive up to my Dad's house that evening, ski up at Taos all day on Saturday together and then both return to our respective homes Sunday afternoon. My dad's wife is super excited about it and I think it was the right thing to do considering it will mark the one year "anniversary" of his passing away and we all need to be together for that, especially her and my younger brother.
