Say it ain't so! But it is.
I've been so damn busy I haven't had time to see straight, but aren't I always bitching about that? Okay, good point. Moving right along...
I'm finally getting over being sickly, and Carter is getting better as well. I was about at the end of my rope with Carter though. The doctor had him on the breathing treatments every 4 hours. Well, it made him WILD! He got up at 4:30 AM Sunday morning, throwing things, and demanding that his grandmother make him something to eat because he was hungry! I called the doctor about it and the nurse said that the breathing treatments had steroids in them and could make him "irritable and very hungry". Yeah, thanks for the tip there. So, we backed off and he's finally back to his normal self.
Friday is supposed to be some important day to me, but I'm refusing to acknowledge it's presence. Instead, I'm simply saying that I'm having an extra special Mother's Day. :) I had no issues last year, turning 30. 31 however... well, it officially puts me "in my 30's". Blah. I'm not happy. I feel OLD. Especially considering that about half of my flist is younger than me.
My sister is doing pretty good. She's applied for the emergency medicaid and is working on her physical therapy. My mom told me that she talked with her yesterday and she was really anxious to get moving around. She even told the PT person that if it took a while to get the medicaid paperwork through, she didn't care. They'd pay cash for the sessions and then file for reimbursement. So, she's really motivated, which is good.
The other plus is that her work managed to get their production computer moved over to her house and hooked up so she can work from home. And that's helped her feelings a lot. Now she's not feeling like she's doing nothing all the time. Plus it's helping her maintain her work and pay. She's a graphic designer and she works for a real estate advertiser called Homes and Land. She recently redesigned their entire layout, to a full color, full size magazine. So, she's fortunate that she can work from home and that they like her so much that they are willing to do that for her.
I already know some of my *coughs* birthday *coughs* presents because I ordered them. :D They came in over a week ago, but I told Craig to wrap them up. I got "Swarmed" and "Pirates Of Silicon Valley" on DVD. It's an equal opportunity for lust. ;)
After reading a post a while back on
maudelynn's journal, someone informed me that the feature video for Arena by Duran Duran is out on DVD. So, I'm considering ordering this as well. My dad said he's sending me money, so there goes some of that.
And I am going to order some polymer clay and bead making tools. Still working on the Stargate necklaces, but I made up a batch of silver and blue beads and they looked awesome! So, I'm excited about it.
Enough rambling for now, I'll be quiet now. :D
*hugs flist*
