Lost in translation?

I'm not big on music videos, so perhaps this is the problem. I've watched this three times now and don't understand what the video has to do with the song. AT ALL. The song is simple, so is the video, but they don't seem to be related to each other. What am I  missing?

Edit: I should add I'm talking about the bit with the boy and the two girls, not the band. It's fairly obvious what's happening, it just doesn't seem connected to the music at all
