Who's the rookie indeed, Langley.

Awesome scene. I especialy liked how personal its gotten between Amuro and Char-the whole, "The hell is that?!" "...how should I know!" schtick was great.

It's honestly gotten more personal than it was in the series until near the end, but I like that. They just get so aggravated.

I think its a natural result of a MUSH environment, and the theme. Like, I remember Rei and Asuka saying that they were a little more chilled with eachother because, hey, suddenly its a multiverse, not a universe, and that has the weird effect of pushing people a little more together. The whole, "Hey, you're from the same plane of existance as me...its easier to like/hate/be personal with you now!" effect, if that makes any sense.

Nono, it makes sense. Amuro has generally been a little more social than he is in canon, where he starts off as a borderline recluse, mainly because he's had more friends his age who are in similar situations under similar pressures, and who aren't the rather tense bunch on White Base. (Not that I wouldn't kill for a Bright Noah/Sayla Mass/Hayato Kobayashi/what have you.) It's a neat effect.

It turned things into a competition for Asuka which I worried about for a little bit but despite me being leery of 'we're better than other universes' type multiversal characters I think it works this time because it's not a big thing, it just gives Asuka a chance to do bigger and clearer reactions. She can get along perfectly well with those she competes with after all.

Yeah, I see what you're getting at, there.
