Von Braun Space Battle pt. 2
WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WATCH FOR: Oh, just look at the previous post!
To say Camille is pushing the limits of the Zeta Gundam would be an understatement. He's got the suit in its agile Waverider Mode, with all verniers running on full throttle. To say Camille is eager to fight would be another understatement. Not that Camille -wants- to fight, but he wants to stop whoever these people are from fighting by any means necessary, even if it means extreme violence on his part. Of course, his will is somewhat shaken by the feeling of... familiarity, particularly from the white and red mobile suits. But he's still charging in, full blast. In fact, anyone watching him would probably think there's some weird jet aiming to crash right into that giant battle station. But at the last moment, it pulls out while firing its two beam cannons towards what he HOPES are the engines of the ship, pulling up and over the ship before pitching left to make another pass. There is no noise coming from the communication system at this point. But whether or not it's because he has his comm down or he's just keeping quiet... is anyone's guess.
Camille Bidan hits Ridley with his Pwew, pwew, lasers! attack.
"...You heartless...!" More red lights begin flashing on the monitor of the Gundam as the Heat Hawk takes another chunk out of its armor, jostling the cockpit as the impact nearly prompts Amuro to bite his tongue. The pilot narrows his eyes behind the helmet, his heart pounding in his chest. Something has happened to Shinji, and Ayanami is apparently not well, if the radios are any indication. Vanilla is in severe danger, facing off against that ship, and there is nothing he can do about it if he /can't get past that goddamn Red Comet./
The jet is spotted, leaving the big, unidentified ship. There is confusion among the Federation officers, as some attempt to radio the ship itself, asking for identification. Something in Amuro's head goes FSSSSSSSSSSSSH in a familiar, and slightly painful, way.
"...Maybe he'll protect Vanilla," he murmurs, "but I still need to take care of YOU, Red Comet!" The Gundam's rifle is pulled out, and he auto-fires at Char, staring at the red Zaku in his crosshairs as that funny feeling in his head keeps kicking in.

Plasma blasts blow away a few of the missiles, but many still make contact. "Ha! That's nothing! Wait til you see /my/ missil- augh!" Ridley pauses as the Zeta Gundam comes flying in. "Untranslatable! Forget the gnat, fire missiles on that craft!" Numerous holes open up on the ship's surface, releasing a swarm of missiles. They launch and shoot towards the Gundam. If they make contact, they will explode and release the radioactive Phazon.

"Is that so?" Char snaps back towards Amuro, over the radio. He looks about ready to swipe again with his heat hawk, when the very same wave that hit Amuro's mind strikes his own. His eyes widen and he looks to the side, almost as if the beginnings of a migraine were there. The Red Comet swallows once and looks around, before realizing that it is from a person. His head snaps to the side, and on the monitor, he spies the Zeta Gundam.
His eyes narrow. There is something about that one - something he would have to see for himself. The distraction of this machine is strong enough that he doesn't even detect the fact the Gundam has locked onto him.
The pulse blasts rip into the Mobile Suit. The Zaku is holed through again, one of the cables on the head cut, and fluid and the like begins spewing into space and forming globules. "Damn!" Char swears, before swinging his heat hawk down onto his skirt armor again. He grabs his Zaku's bazooka, then, and swings it down over the Mobile Suit's shoulder.
He puts the Gundam in his sights, quickly, trying to put out the ever present sensation from the new entry aside. The man blinks his eyes once, then fires the rocket, sending it towards the Gundam.

It was just a moment ago that Vanilla was certain she was doomed. Now she has an unexpected and unknown ally. She doesn't know and honestly doesn't care who it is. Now there's at least a chance she may not die within the next 2 minutes. She doesn't bother getting in contact with her unexpected ally, instead simply powering up her weapons systems for another volley. Attack power may not be her forte (It's Forte's forte), but she's can't back down now. It's a little late for that. Missles and laser fire shoot from the Harvester, aimed at the giant alien mothership.

At this point, Camille's inexperience as a pilot definitely kicks in. For one, he didn't expect that fast of a response from a HUGE MOTHERSHIP, and for another he DEFINITELY didn't expect it to use weird organic weapons. Even worse, he seems... drawn to the two mobile suit pilots locked in combat. It takes a few moments for him to connect everything. "That white mobile suit, that red paintjob... that weird feeling. Those must be...!" he exclaims, mostly to himself. Of course, coming to such a realization when being barraged by missiles isn't particularly a useful thing.The foolish boy he is, he tries to outrace them, but the outcome is evident as the missiles quickly slam into the 'jet', scraping across the surfance and polluting it with a weird blueish aura. With the Waverider damaged, Camille has no choice but to transform the mobile suit, and the head and limbs fold out and that trademark V-fin extends, shifting the jet into something that might seem INCREDIBLY familiar. And not a moment after the transformation, Camille is pulling his Gundam towards the Mothership, pulling out the beam rifle and letting loose a barrage of pink blasts towards whatever he can hit. "You bastard... Don't think you can do as you please!" the young pilot yells, and at that point it's pretty obvious that his comm channel is on.

The Gundam veers out of the way of the bazooka fire, spinning out to avoid shots and holding out the shield to protect its cockpit in the chest. The pilot stops to hold his head. Concentrate. Concentrate! Vanilla is okay for now, Ayanami...might be alright. She's probably alright. Complete the objective. Ignore the funny feeling in your head. Concentrate!
He positions the suit at a higher angle from the Zaku with his thrusters, floating for just a moment as the beam saber is activated. And at that precise point, as his eyes wander to check on Vanilla, they catch sight of what the Waverider facing the giant mothership has become. It's...
WHAT THE HELL IT'S A GUNDAM.
Did the Federation commission more Gundams to be made? Better models? Why didn't they tell him if they were sending backup? Is that even Federation backup? /Does someone else have a Gundam?/ Thoughts of confusion race through his head, and he tries to concentrate it all into anger and frustration as he slices down at Char's Zaku, screaming into his radio at his rival.
"What the hell is that?!"

As Vanilla fires her attacks, Ridley yells at his minions. "Don't we have any shields?" "Yes sir!" "Well turn them on!" "Yes sir!" The missiles and lasers impact on the shields, leaving the ship unharmed. "Excellent! Leave those on!" "Sir, the shields are drained!" The lasers from the Gundam impact on the ship. "Destroy that untranslatable thing!" "Yes sir!" Turrets on the ship begin to reposition themselves to track the Gundam. They fire in short spurts, sending waves of plasma at it.

Camille Bidan switches armor modes to Zeta Gundam.
"How should I know!" Char replies angrily. The beam saber catches the Zaku at the left arm, slicing it away from the shoulder. The armored limb falls off into space, sparks spewing from the wound. His cockpit blares warnings at him, which he by and large ignores. He knows what happened; he saw for himself. He looks at the Gundam, and mutters to himself, 'Focus Char, focus...'
What /is/ that feeling?
The Zaku II plunges forward again with a thruster burst. The Heat Hawk swings down in another hard chop, this one aimed for the Gundam's faceplate. He needs to hit a key blow, something to turn this around quickly, so he can go and investigate the other machine.

Vanilla H is still not all that dangerous, but now she's not getting pwned! And this allows her to go back to her old tricks. She's not designed to fight face to face anyway. Guess what, Mr. Mysterious Gundam Guy? You've got one of the universe's only healer mechas on your side. It's like having a cleric, only with lasers. Having had time to recover her bodily strength since she had to repair the SDF-1, she's now got what it takes to repair Camille's Gundam as well. Incoming wave of energy, Camille. It's a pretty green in color, and it's not going to do you any harm. Instead, it's going to send a bunch of little nanomachines inside of the larger machine and work it's repairing 'magic' upon it. You can thank her latter, if you ever meet the little green-haired pilot face to face.

Well, at least Camille knows how to deal with plasma. That doesn't exactly mean he deals well with it, though. The unfortunate thing about being a Newtype is that when around other Newtypes, particularly ones who don't know what's happening, it gets a tad distracting. The intense emotions and the confusion of Char and Amuro flood towards Camille, flooding his brain and he is reduced to simply trying to pull up his shield and defend himself from the coming onslaught of plasma. Unfortunately, it does its fair share of damage, and the top half of his arm-mounted shield suddenly splits violently and flies off into space. This of course leaves Camille entirely helpless against the oncoming nanomachines that seem to be... repairing his Mobile Suit, or at least patching up some of the scrapes. He floats in space for a moment, collecting himself, before he once again hits the verniers and starts another strafing run on the battleship. His mind still isn't all there, though, and he looks back and grits his teeth in frustration. "Agh. SHUT UP! If you two would just stop fighting, we wouldn't be in this mess!" he yells, his anger reaching a boiling point. As he passes the Battlestation, he thrusts his beam rifle towards it, and a large pink beam saber shoots from the tip, serving as a bayonet of sorts as Camille flies by, hoping to give it quite a large gash while he passes.

The repairs would of been stronger if it hadn't been Vanilla's third time doing it in this fight. She'll need to sleep for a day straight to recover from this, assuming she survives. She likely won't, though. Not even bothering to see the effects her nanotechnological cure spell had on her unexpected ally, she turns back to the task at hand. Defeating that mammoth machine. She fires another volley of missles and laser fire. Maybe she'll get lucky and the shields are still down!

Oh, man, right in the /face./ The faceplate of the Gundam starts to tear off, and unlike the EVAs of his allies, it does not reveal a big gooey face with eyeballs. Just more circuitry and more red warnings on the screen. He could have dodge better, if his head wasn't flooding with even more frustration and anger that he swears is coming from /somewhere else,/ and if Char would shut up!
"Why the hell should I sh-"
Wait, Amuro reasons. That's not Char's voice on the radio.
"...I'm not even talking to you! Who are you, anyway?! How'd you get a Gundam? Are you with the Federation? Why didn't they tell me you were coming?-can you please protect Vanilla?" Most of that conversation was shouted, but the last was an earnest request. Maybe the voice is familiar to Camille?
"And as for you, shut the hell up and get out of my way!" That was directed at Char, as Amuro attempts to mimic that kick move Char used on him earlier. It does not look even 25 as cool as when Char does it.

It also misses because Amuro is not as cool as Char.
"Stay out of this, whoever you are," Char snaps over the radio at this new enemy. His eyes narrow. "You don't know the half of it!"
If only Char knew the truth.
He hits the pedals of the Zaku II and goes swooping back towards Amuro. A quick press of the verniers lets him avoid the kick, and the machine rolls with a simple AMBAC movement, before bringing the heat hawk down for a hard chop to the Gundam's right arm. The superheated blade flashes, as it is swung down.

Alarms go off as the beam saber cuts through the the Mothership. Pirates rush to the sites and work to seal off the wound. "Sir! We just got the shields back up!" "Excellent!" Vanilla's lasers and missile hit the shield again. "They're drained again, sir." "I don't like that ship, I want it taken out now! And if they survive, I want them to remember us! Use the Beta-5 weapon!" "Sir, command team said not to use that attack anymore!" "Is command team here?" "No, sir." Then do as I say! And fire shoot at the other one too!
Turrets turn to fire at the Gundam, but that's not as important as what else is happening. Doors open on the side of the ship facing the harvester. A team of pirates are ejected face first at the ship. They raise their weapons and fire at the Harvester during the short time before they reach it.

Perhaps it is do to some sort of lack of self-preservation, but the Zeta Gundam seems to stubbornly refuse to move away from the giant ship that obviously wants him dead. Even with half of a shield, Camille tries to block the oncoming barrage of plasma, and though he has moderate success in blocking the shots, the plasma does begin its wear and tear. Fortunately, frustration seems to be his source of power and the One Year War rivals are providing it tenfold. First, he's annoyed at Amuro for even THINKING that he's with the Federation. And secondly he's annoyed at Char because... well, he seems to be just the way people (including Char himself) described him. The plasma volley sends fends Camille off only slightly, and when he feels it ending he's jamming right back on the thrust pedals, stowing his beam rifle away in favor of not one but TWO beam sabers, both of which he intends to thrust right into the Mothership's sensitive areas. "HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

Massive warnings flash all over the Gundam's screen as the Heat Hawk chops right through an arm, sending parts of it drifting off. That's exactly what Amuro needs. Standing in front of Bright Noah, explaining how they're going to have to replace the Gundam's /arm/ with the few spare parts they have. What's he going to say? 'Sorry, I was thrown off because Char really wants to kill me and there were space pirates threatening my friend and some other guy has a sleeker Gundam?' Bright is going to /kick his ass./
If he doesn't die first at the hands of Char. Now that only one hand is free, he's left mostly using the beam saber, and he uses it to dive for Char as he swings the saber at a leg area of the Zaku. Meanwhile, he tries to radio Camille again. "Hey, are you listening? I just want to know what's going on!"
Stupid swirling headache.

The beam saber rips through the Zaku's leg, slicing it away. The limb goes flying into space, cutting the Mobile Suit down to two limbs. Sparks spew out, with fluid and air mixed in. Char's eyes widen as he regards it for a moment. This could be a serious problem, especially given the rapidly fading atmosphere and the serious power losses now spreading through his Mobile Suit. He scowls, then presses on the foot pedals. The Zaku's thrusters activate, and then the thing begins spiralling away, back towards the Falmel.
(Fac-IPA) Amuro Ray says, "There's another Mobile Suit here. He won't identify himself...Vanilla, is he aiding you?"
(Fac-IPA) Vanilla H says, "He is not attacking me, and he is attacking my enemy."
(Fac-IPA) Vanilla H says, "If that is aiding, then yes."
(Fac-IPA) Amuro Ray says, "...Long as he's helping us against that huge ship..."
(Fac-IPA) Havelock Vetinari says, "That usually falls under the classification of 'aid.'"
(Fac-IPA) Amuro Ray says, "...It looks like Char is retreating. I better do the same soon, the Gundam lost an /arm./"
(Fac-IPA) Amuro Ray says, "Bright is going to /kill me./"
(Fac-IPA) Nanoha Takamachi says, "Is everyone alright? I'm afraid I've been tied up in a running chase involving a magical thief back on my world."
(Fac-IPA) Koji Kabuto says, "At least /that/ one doesn't grow back."
And suddenly, the ship throws aliens at the Harvester. A look of distaste touches the girl's face briefly. "Such a blatant disregard for life. Truely, I am faced with evil." The aliens inflict some damage on her ship, too! It's minor damage, but it still prevents her from being at optimal efficency. "I will cleanse them of their signs." With lasers!

(Fac-IPA) Shinji Ikari's video link chooses this time to snap back in for a few seconds. Berserker Shinji is...unpleasent to look at. And yes, he is roaring along with his Evangelion.
(Fac-IPA) Rei Ayanami is bent over double in hers. She says, very faintly, "Unit One..."
(Fac-IPA) Mint Blancmanche sounds slightly shaken. "What was that...?!"
(Fac-IPA) Koji Kabuto says, "The... Evangelion, right? It's gone crazy. I'm not sure what the hell is going on here, but I'm trying to stop it, along with another robot."
(Fac-IPA) Asuka Langley says, "Did Gendo put Steroids in Shinji's wheaties again?"
(Fac-IPA) Mint Blancmanche, perhaps diplomatically, chooses to ignore Asuka. "'Gone crazy'?"
(Fac-IPA) Koji Kabuto says, "Trying to kill everything that moves, eating robots' faces, regrowing body parts, the works!"
(Fac-IPA) Asuka Langley says, "Oh. Huh."
(Fac-IPA) Asuka Langley thoughtfully, "Hmm..."
(Fac-IPA) Rei Ayanami sounds like she's straining. "I will..."
(Fac-IPA) Koji Kabuto says, "Oh, hey, does the thing have a weakn-- You will...?"
(Fac-IPA) Asuka Langley has an idea! "SHINJI! IT WAS I WHO OVERWROTE YOUR ROBOTREK SAVEFILES!"
The Mothership is badly damaged now. Camille's attacks have caused severe problems. Half of the Pirate crew is now working on holding the ship together. Vanilla's lasers are largely ignored. Ridley snarls in the control room. "Destroy that pest! Send the Metroids!" In the same area as before, doors open on the ship. Masses of Metroids are sent flying towards the Gundam. If they manage to latch onto the suit, Camille will find that they can drain energy from mechanical systems as well as life forms.
(Fac-IPA) Rei Ayanami says, "I will draw it out."
(Fac-IPA) Mint Blancmanche says, "What kind of robot IS tha-"
(Fac-IPA) Mint Blancmanche can be heard audibly headdesking.
(Fac-IPA) Vanilla H says, "Mint."
(Fac-IPA) Amuro Ray says, "...It's Shinji's EVA?! But...how the hell..."
(Fac-IPA) Mint Blancmanche says, "-- Vanilla?"
(Fac-IPA) Shinji Ikari seems to recgonize Asuka's voice-but can't force himself out of it, the flash of humanity gone in a second. Shinji/Eva-01 give another bestal war-cry, and conviently placed staticstaticstatic hope you didn't watch The Ring static!
(Fac-IPA) Vanilla H says, "I may be late in getting home today."
(Fac-IPA) Amuro Ray says, "-Also, that ship just sent out...jellyfish? What are those things? -Shinji!"
(Fac-IPA) Vanilla H says, "Also, I might die. If I die, I told Normad that he should start liking you. Be prepared if this happens."
(Fac-IPA) Asuka Langley says, "Man, I can't believe that didn't wo--gahh! Ugh."
(Fac-IPA) Mint Blancmanche says, "Are you over there right now? What's going--"
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Amuro Ray says, "You'd better not die!"
(Fac-IPA) Mint Blancmanche says, "..."
(Fac-IPA) Amuro Ray says, "She's facing a mothership! I can't get to her, but there's...someone else helping her..."
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Rei Ayanami says, "It is alright."
(Fac-IPA) Mint Blancmanche says, "... oh dear. Do you need backup? I can sortie the Trick Master in ten minutes! Just..."
(Fac-IPA) Vanilla H says, "One way or another, it will likely be over before then."
(Fac-IPA) Vanilla H says, "I remain in good condition, as of now."
(Fac-IPA) Mint Blancmanche takes a breath. "... alright. Just... be careful, Vanilla. And you too, Ensign Ray."
(Fac-IPA) Vanilla H says, "I do not intend to remain long enough to be destroyed. My goal has been achieved: To allow the SDF-1 time to retreat and begin repairs."
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Rei Ayanami, speaking to something else: "Restore plug depth."
(Fac-IPA) Amuro Ray says, "Good..."
(Fac-IPA) Amuro Ray says, "I'll be alright. I have to retreat myself."
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Mint Blancmanche says, "... Normad, please... um, keep her safe."
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Mint Blancmanche sotto voices, "Because the alternative does not bear thinking about."
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Vanilla H says nothing, but the electronic voice of Normad responds. "These beasts are not the danger they think they are. I am certain Vanilla shall be okay."
At this point, Camille is smart enough to know that when someone's sending weird alien things at you, you should probably move away. He manages to ignore the horrible headaches he's getting and the fact that two of his 'mentors' are fighting just for a moment, as he kicks into reverse and ducks away from the swarm of Metroids, letting them float harmlessly (or not harmlessly. Looks like Mars is set for an invasion!) into space. And after the last of it passes, Camille goes right back in, flying into a frenzy of saber-slashing and stabbing. Guns don't seem to be working for it, so he figures he'll just tear the thing out. "You probably caused all of this, too!I Get the HELL out of here!" he yells, although he doesn't particularly find a way to back up his arguments besides continuing his frenzy.

Fortunately for Vanilla, those metroids didn't come her way. They would of had a field day with all the energy her ship gives off, assuming she didn't blast them out of the sky first. Sure, she lacks an ice beam, but her missles are a crapload bigger then ones you fire from your arm, too. But regardless, she's got a mothership to blast. Sure, she hasn't had much luck so far, but slow and steady wins the race and whatnot. "Begone." Guess what comes next? If you guessed lasers and/or missles, you guessed correctly!

(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Mint Blancmanche says, "With what the Harvester is capable of, I am sure she will be."
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Amuro Ray says, "Vanilla, I have to retreat. Are you going to be alright? Do you need me to come back in a Core Booster to help you retreat?"
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Amuro Ray says, "-Augh...what's wrong with my head?"
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Asuka Langley with great willpower, manages not to commen.t
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Amuro Ray's hair is awesome and you know it.
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Vanilla H says, "My intent was to cover the SDF-1's retreat. That is accomplished. I regret not being able to stop the invasion entirely. However, I told Mint I would not allow them to kill me. I would likely break my word if I tried to face off against such an enemy alone."
The entire mothership is now flooded with lights and sirens as the ship takes on damage. Ridley is raging in the control room. "Get us out of here! Half of you are going to die when we're gone. Hurry up!" The jets fire and the ship turns around. It builds up speed and heads toward the last known location of a ship sized gate.
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Amuro Ray says, "I understand. You did well. I...think they're pulling back, too, so if we can just avoid those space jellyfish, we should be okay...I-I need to-augh."
Amuro is silent for a moment as the Zaku retreats and the mother ship pulls away, leaving behind a bunch of...space jellyfish? He has no idea how things are going on the surface, except that Shinji's EVA has apparently gone nuts and is /eating things,/ and Ayanami is safe, or at least alive. And his Gundam is missing part of an arm, with the various flashing alarms letting him know that it's probably time to get out of there before the damage becomes too strong and the Mobile Suit explodes. And his head is absolutely swirling, as if he'd had too much to drink or had taken too many blows to the skull. He quietly radios Vanilla to let him know, and sighs. No response from the unknown Mobile Suit. Was he another independent, like Sousuke? But then, how would he have a Gundam...?
"Retreating now." The message is sent to Camille as well, as the Gundam RX-7802 starts to speed off.
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Mint Blancmanche says, "... thank you, Vanilla. Please, don't worry- we can always come back later to--" Pause. "Ensign Ray, is your head injured? Or..."
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Amuro Ray says, "I've been getting headaches..."
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Amuro Ray says, "And those...things...I told you about have been getting more severe. I don't know, maybe it's connected."
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Vanilla H says, "The enemy seems to be retreating. I shall return home, then."
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Mint Blancmanche murmurs. "I would imagine so, but... headaches? I've never experienced anything to that scale before-- ah, I'll have a cup of tea ready for you when you get back, Vanilla."
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Amuro Ray says, "D-don't worry about me."
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Vanilla H says, "Amuro Ray."
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Amuro Ray says, "Vanilla...?"
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Vanilla H says, "What 'things' are you talking about?"
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Amuro Ray says, "..."
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Vanilla H says, "I may be able to be of help to you."

To say Camille is pushing the limits of the Zeta Gundam would be an understatement. He's got the suit in its agile Waverider Mode, with all verniers running on full throttle. To say Camille is eager to fight would be another understatement. Not that Camille -wants- to fight, but he wants to stop whoever these people are from fighting by any means necessary, even if it means extreme violence on his part. Of course, his will is somewhat shaken by the feeling of... familiarity, particularly from the white and red mobile suits. But he's still charging in, full blast. In fact, anyone watching him would probably think there's some weird jet aiming to crash right into that giant battle station. But at the last moment, it pulls out while firing its two beam cannons towards what he HOPES are the engines of the ship, pulling up and over the ship before pitching left to make another pass. There is no noise coming from the communication system at this point. But whether or not it's because he has his comm down or he's just keeping quiet... is anyone's guess.
Camille Bidan hits Ridley with his Pwew, pwew, lasers! attack.
"...You heartless...!" More red lights begin flashing on the monitor of the Gundam as the Heat Hawk takes another chunk out of its armor, jostling the cockpit as the impact nearly prompts Amuro to bite his tongue. The pilot narrows his eyes behind the helmet, his heart pounding in his chest. Something has happened to Shinji, and Ayanami is apparently not well, if the radios are any indication. Vanilla is in severe danger, facing off against that ship, and there is nothing he can do about it if he /can't get past that goddamn Red Comet./
The jet is spotted, leaving the big, unidentified ship. There is confusion among the Federation officers, as some attempt to radio the ship itself, asking for identification. Something in Amuro's head goes FSSSSSSSSSSSSH in a familiar, and slightly painful, way.
"...Maybe he'll protect Vanilla," he murmurs, "but I still need to take care of YOU, Red Comet!" The Gundam's rifle is pulled out, and he auto-fires at Char, staring at the red Zaku in his crosshairs as that funny feeling in his head keeps kicking in.

Plasma blasts blow away a few of the missiles, but many still make contact. "Ha! That's nothing! Wait til you see /my/ missil- augh!" Ridley pauses as the Zeta Gundam comes flying in. "Untranslatable! Forget the gnat, fire missiles on that craft!" Numerous holes open up on the ship's surface, releasing a swarm of missiles. They launch and shoot towards the Gundam. If they make contact, they will explode and release the radioactive Phazon.

"Is that so?" Char snaps back towards Amuro, over the radio. He looks about ready to swipe again with his heat hawk, when the very same wave that hit Amuro's mind strikes his own. His eyes widen and he looks to the side, almost as if the beginnings of a migraine were there. The Red Comet swallows once and looks around, before realizing that it is from a person. His head snaps to the side, and on the monitor, he spies the Zeta Gundam.
His eyes narrow. There is something about that one - something he would have to see for himself. The distraction of this machine is strong enough that he doesn't even detect the fact the Gundam has locked onto him.
The pulse blasts rip into the Mobile Suit. The Zaku is holed through again, one of the cables on the head cut, and fluid and the like begins spewing into space and forming globules. "Damn!" Char swears, before swinging his heat hawk down onto his skirt armor again. He grabs his Zaku's bazooka, then, and swings it down over the Mobile Suit's shoulder.
He puts the Gundam in his sights, quickly, trying to put out the ever present sensation from the new entry aside. The man blinks his eyes once, then fires the rocket, sending it towards the Gundam.

It was just a moment ago that Vanilla was certain she was doomed. Now she has an unexpected and unknown ally. She doesn't know and honestly doesn't care who it is. Now there's at least a chance she may not die within the next 2 minutes. She doesn't bother getting in contact with her unexpected ally, instead simply powering up her weapons systems for another volley. Attack power may not be her forte (It's Forte's forte), but she's can't back down now. It's a little late for that. Missles and laser fire shoot from the Harvester, aimed at the giant alien mothership.

At this point, Camille's inexperience as a pilot definitely kicks in. For one, he didn't expect that fast of a response from a HUGE MOTHERSHIP, and for another he DEFINITELY didn't expect it to use weird organic weapons. Even worse, he seems... drawn to the two mobile suit pilots locked in combat. It takes a few moments for him to connect everything. "That white mobile suit, that red paintjob... that weird feeling. Those must be...!" he exclaims, mostly to himself. Of course, coming to such a realization when being barraged by missiles isn't particularly a useful thing.The foolish boy he is, he tries to outrace them, but the outcome is evident as the missiles quickly slam into the 'jet', scraping across the surfance and polluting it with a weird blueish aura. With the Waverider damaged, Camille has no choice but to transform the mobile suit, and the head and limbs fold out and that trademark V-fin extends, shifting the jet into something that might seem INCREDIBLY familiar. And not a moment after the transformation, Camille is pulling his Gundam towards the Mothership, pulling out the beam rifle and letting loose a barrage of pink blasts towards whatever he can hit. "You bastard... Don't think you can do as you please!" the young pilot yells, and at that point it's pretty obvious that his comm channel is on.

The Gundam veers out of the way of the bazooka fire, spinning out to avoid shots and holding out the shield to protect its cockpit in the chest. The pilot stops to hold his head. Concentrate. Concentrate! Vanilla is okay for now, Ayanami...might be alright. She's probably alright. Complete the objective. Ignore the funny feeling in your head. Concentrate!
He positions the suit at a higher angle from the Zaku with his thrusters, floating for just a moment as the beam saber is activated. And at that precise point, as his eyes wander to check on Vanilla, they catch sight of what the Waverider facing the giant mothership has become. It's...
WHAT THE HELL IT'S A GUNDAM.
Did the Federation commission more Gundams to be made? Better models? Why didn't they tell him if they were sending backup? Is that even Federation backup? /Does someone else have a Gundam?/ Thoughts of confusion race through his head, and he tries to concentrate it all into anger and frustration as he slices down at Char's Zaku, screaming into his radio at his rival.
"What the hell is that?!"

As Vanilla fires her attacks, Ridley yells at his minions. "Don't we have any shields?" "Yes sir!" "Well turn them on!" "Yes sir!" The missiles and lasers impact on the shields, leaving the ship unharmed. "Excellent! Leave those on!" "Sir, the shields are drained!" The lasers from the Gundam impact on the ship. "Destroy that untranslatable thing!" "Yes sir!" Turrets on the ship begin to reposition themselves to track the Gundam. They fire in short spurts, sending waves of plasma at it.

Camille Bidan switches armor modes to Zeta Gundam.
"How should I know!" Char replies angrily. The beam saber catches the Zaku at the left arm, slicing it away from the shoulder. The armored limb falls off into space, sparks spewing from the wound. His cockpit blares warnings at him, which he by and large ignores. He knows what happened; he saw for himself. He looks at the Gundam, and mutters to himself, 'Focus Char, focus...'
What /is/ that feeling?
The Zaku II plunges forward again with a thruster burst. The Heat Hawk swings down in another hard chop, this one aimed for the Gundam's faceplate. He needs to hit a key blow, something to turn this around quickly, so he can go and investigate the other machine.

Vanilla H is still not all that dangerous, but now she's not getting pwned! And this allows her to go back to her old tricks. She's not designed to fight face to face anyway. Guess what, Mr. Mysterious Gundam Guy? You've got one of the universe's only healer mechas on your side. It's like having a cleric, only with lasers. Having had time to recover her bodily strength since she had to repair the SDF-1, she's now got what it takes to repair Camille's Gundam as well. Incoming wave of energy, Camille. It's a pretty green in color, and it's not going to do you any harm. Instead, it's going to send a bunch of little nanomachines inside of the larger machine and work it's repairing 'magic' upon it. You can thank her latter, if you ever meet the little green-haired pilot face to face.

Well, at least Camille knows how to deal with plasma. That doesn't exactly mean he deals well with it, though. The unfortunate thing about being a Newtype is that when around other Newtypes, particularly ones who don't know what's happening, it gets a tad distracting. The intense emotions and the confusion of Char and Amuro flood towards Camille, flooding his brain and he is reduced to simply trying to pull up his shield and defend himself from the coming onslaught of plasma. Unfortunately, it does its fair share of damage, and the top half of his arm-mounted shield suddenly splits violently and flies off into space. This of course leaves Camille entirely helpless against the oncoming nanomachines that seem to be... repairing his Mobile Suit, or at least patching up some of the scrapes. He floats in space for a moment, collecting himself, before he once again hits the verniers and starts another strafing run on the battleship. His mind still isn't all there, though, and he looks back and grits his teeth in frustration. "Agh. SHUT UP! If you two would just stop fighting, we wouldn't be in this mess!" he yells, his anger reaching a boiling point. As he passes the Battlestation, he thrusts his beam rifle towards it, and a large pink beam saber shoots from the tip, serving as a bayonet of sorts as Camille flies by, hoping to give it quite a large gash while he passes.

The repairs would of been stronger if it hadn't been Vanilla's third time doing it in this fight. She'll need to sleep for a day straight to recover from this, assuming she survives. She likely won't, though. Not even bothering to see the effects her nanotechnological cure spell had on her unexpected ally, she turns back to the task at hand. Defeating that mammoth machine. She fires another volley of missles and laser fire. Maybe she'll get lucky and the shields are still down!

Oh, man, right in the /face./ The faceplate of the Gundam starts to tear off, and unlike the EVAs of his allies, it does not reveal a big gooey face with eyeballs. Just more circuitry and more red warnings on the screen. He could have dodge better, if his head wasn't flooding with even more frustration and anger that he swears is coming from /somewhere else,/ and if Char would shut up!
"Why the hell should I sh-"
Wait, Amuro reasons. That's not Char's voice on the radio.
"...I'm not even talking to you! Who are you, anyway?! How'd you get a Gundam? Are you with the Federation? Why didn't they tell me you were coming?-can you please protect Vanilla?" Most of that conversation was shouted, but the last was an earnest request. Maybe the voice is familiar to Camille?
"And as for you, shut the hell up and get out of my way!" That was directed at Char, as Amuro attempts to mimic that kick move Char used on him earlier. It does not look even 25 as cool as when Char does it.

It also misses because Amuro is not as cool as Char.
"Stay out of this, whoever you are," Char snaps over the radio at this new enemy. His eyes narrow. "You don't know the half of it!"
If only Char knew the truth.
He hits the pedals of the Zaku II and goes swooping back towards Amuro. A quick press of the verniers lets him avoid the kick, and the machine rolls with a simple AMBAC movement, before bringing the heat hawk down for a hard chop to the Gundam's right arm. The superheated blade flashes, as it is swung down.

Alarms go off as the beam saber cuts through the the Mothership. Pirates rush to the sites and work to seal off the wound. "Sir! We just got the shields back up!" "Excellent!" Vanilla's lasers and missile hit the shield again. "They're drained again, sir." "I don't like that ship, I want it taken out now! And if they survive, I want them to remember us! Use the Beta-5 weapon!" "Sir, command team said not to use that attack anymore!" "Is command team here?" "No, sir." Then do as I say! And fire shoot at the other one too!
Turrets turn to fire at the Gundam, but that's not as important as what else is happening. Doors open on the side of the ship facing the harvester. A team of pirates are ejected face first at the ship. They raise their weapons and fire at the Harvester during the short time before they reach it.

Perhaps it is do to some sort of lack of self-preservation, but the Zeta Gundam seems to stubbornly refuse to move away from the giant ship that obviously wants him dead. Even with half of a shield, Camille tries to block the oncoming barrage of plasma, and though he has moderate success in blocking the shots, the plasma does begin its wear and tear. Fortunately, frustration seems to be his source of power and the One Year War rivals are providing it tenfold. First, he's annoyed at Amuro for even THINKING that he's with the Federation. And secondly he's annoyed at Char because... well, he seems to be just the way people (including Char himself) described him. The plasma volley sends fends Camille off only slightly, and when he feels it ending he's jamming right back on the thrust pedals, stowing his beam rifle away in favor of not one but TWO beam sabers, both of which he intends to thrust right into the Mothership's sensitive areas. "HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

Massive warnings flash all over the Gundam's screen as the Heat Hawk chops right through an arm, sending parts of it drifting off. That's exactly what Amuro needs. Standing in front of Bright Noah, explaining how they're going to have to replace the Gundam's /arm/ with the few spare parts they have. What's he going to say? 'Sorry, I was thrown off because Char really wants to kill me and there were space pirates threatening my friend and some other guy has a sleeker Gundam?' Bright is going to /kick his ass./
If he doesn't die first at the hands of Char. Now that only one hand is free, he's left mostly using the beam saber, and he uses it to dive for Char as he swings the saber at a leg area of the Zaku. Meanwhile, he tries to radio Camille again. "Hey, are you listening? I just want to know what's going on!"
Stupid swirling headache.

The beam saber rips through the Zaku's leg, slicing it away. The limb goes flying into space, cutting the Mobile Suit down to two limbs. Sparks spew out, with fluid and air mixed in. Char's eyes widen as he regards it for a moment. This could be a serious problem, especially given the rapidly fading atmosphere and the serious power losses now spreading through his Mobile Suit. He scowls, then presses on the foot pedals. The Zaku's thrusters activate, and then the thing begins spiralling away, back towards the Falmel.
(Fac-IPA) Amuro Ray says, "There's another Mobile Suit here. He won't identify himself...Vanilla, is he aiding you?"
(Fac-IPA) Vanilla H says, "He is not attacking me, and he is attacking my enemy."
(Fac-IPA) Vanilla H says, "If that is aiding, then yes."
(Fac-IPA) Amuro Ray says, "...Long as he's helping us against that huge ship..."

And suddenly, the ship throws aliens at the Harvester. A look of distaste touches the girl's face briefly. "Such a blatant disregard for life. Truely, I am faced with evil." The aliens inflict some damage on her ship, too! It's minor damage, but it still prevents her from being at optimal efficency. "I will cleanse them of their signs." With lasers!

The Mothership is badly damaged now. Camille's attacks have caused severe problems. Half of the Pirate crew is now working on holding the ship together. Vanilla's lasers are largely ignored. Ridley snarls in the control room. "Destroy that pest! Send the Metroids!" In the same area as before, doors open on the ship. Masses of Metroids are sent flying towards the Gundam. If they manage to latch onto the suit, Camille will find that they can drain energy from mechanical systems as well as life forms.
(Fac-IPA) Rei Ayanami says, "I will draw it out."
(Fac-IPA) Mint Blancmanche says, "What kind of robot IS tha-"

(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Vanilla H says nothing, but the electronic voice of Normad responds. "These beasts are not the danger they think they are. I am certain Vanilla shall be okay."
At this point, Camille is smart enough to know that when someone's sending weird alien things at you, you should probably move away. He manages to ignore the horrible headaches he's getting and the fact that two of his 'mentors' are fighting just for a moment, as he kicks into reverse and ducks away from the swarm of Metroids, letting them float harmlessly (or not harmlessly. Looks like Mars is set for an invasion!) into space. And after the last of it passes, Camille goes right back in, flying into a frenzy of saber-slashing and stabbing. Guns don't seem to be working for it, so he figures he'll just tear the thing out. "You probably caused all of this, too!I Get the HELL out of here!" he yells, although he doesn't particularly find a way to back up his arguments besides continuing his frenzy.
Camille Bidan gets a glancing blow on Ridley with his Totally Not Crazy attack.
Fortunately for Vanilla, those metroids didn't come her way. They would of had a field day with all the energy her ship gives off, assuming she didn't blast them out of the sky first. Sure, she lacks an ice beam, but her missles are a crapload bigger then ones you fire from your arm, too. But regardless, she's got a mothership to blast. Sure, she hasn't had much luck so far, but slow and steady wins the race and whatnot. "Begone." Guess what comes next? If you guessed lasers and/or missles, you guessed correctly!
Vanilla H critically strikes Ridley with her Lasers, the Other White Meat attack.
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Mint Blancmanche says, "With what the Harvester is capable of, I am sure she will be."
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Amuro Ray says, "Vanilla, I have to retreat. Are you going to be alright? Do you need me to come back in a Core Booster to help you retreat?"
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Amuro Ray says, "-Augh...what's wrong with my head?"

(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Vanilla H says, "My intent was to cover the SDF-1's retreat. That is accomplished. I regret not being able to stop the invasion entirely. However, I told Mint I would not allow them to kill me. I would likely break my word if I tried to face off against such an enemy alone."
The entire mothership is now flooded with lights and sirens as the ship takes on damage. Ridley is raging in the control room. "Get us out of here! Half of you are going to die when we're gone. Hurry up!" The jets fire and the ship turns around. It builds up speed and heads toward the last known location of a ship sized gate.
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Amuro Ray says, "I understand. You did well. I...think they're pulling back, too, so if we can just avoid those space jellyfish, we should be okay...I-I need to-augh."
Amuro is silent for a moment as the Zaku retreats and the mother ship pulls away, leaving behind a bunch of...space jellyfish? He has no idea how things are going on the surface, except that Shinji's EVA has apparently gone nuts and is /eating things,/ and Ayanami is safe, or at least alive. And his Gundam is missing part of an arm, with the various flashing alarms letting him know that it's probably time to get out of there before the damage becomes too strong and the Mobile Suit explodes. And his head is absolutely swirling, as if he'd had too much to drink or had taken too many blows to the skull. He quietly radios Vanilla to let him know, and sighs. No response from the unknown Mobile Suit. Was he another independent, like Sousuke? But then, how would he have a Gundam...?
"Retreating now." The message is sent to Camille as well, as the Gundam RX-7802 starts to speed off.
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Mint Blancmanche says, "... thank you, Vanilla. Please, don't worry- we can always come back later to--" Pause. "Ensign Ray, is your head injured? Or..."
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Amuro Ray says, "I've been getting headaches..."
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Amuro Ray says, "And those...things...I told you about have been getting more severe. I don't know, maybe it's connected."
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Vanilla H says, "The enemy seems to be retreating. I shall return home, then."
(Y-Black Sheep Squadron) Mint Blancmanche murmurs. "I would imagine so, but... headaches? I've never experienced anything to that scale before-- ah, I'll have a cup of tea ready for you when you get back, Vanilla."

And now these headaches and this weird flood of anger and confusion that felt like it was from somewhere else..."
