[Log] Yuna and Chris in Besaid

Jun 13, 2006 02:04

WHO:: Chris Lightfellow, Yuna
WHEN: Monday, June 13, 2006
WHERE: Besaid Island
WHAT: Chris leaves Besaid. Her and Yuna talk.
WATCH FOR: Chris meets the orphans.

Chris had been in and out of it for the past several days. Life had been confusing; she had taken some time to heal, and the woman had spent much of it asleep. She vaguely knew those around her. Today, however, is the first one where she feels fine getting up on her own power for any length of time. The woman swings her legs off the bed, and stands up - shakily, at first, but then she straightens out as she steps forward.

"Hm..." she murmurs. She walks through the hut, looking out the window. She hadn't really /looked/ at Besaid before - and now that she does, she finds it a strange prison. Why had Yuna taken her here? What did she intend? Somehow, it seemed hard to believe that the kind-hearted girl would kidnap her. And yet...

She looks down, and closes her eyes. It makes her feel ill to realize she won't write that conclusion off.

The villagers looked at Yuna quizzly when she carried the wounded Chris into Besaid and into a hut. Right at the moment, Yuna wasn't in the hut but there were a group of Besaidian orphans there, watching Chris. The youngest of the group, a three year old girl with firey red hair and deep blue eyes, grinned widely as Chris finally goes to stand up. The other orphans at once rushed to the Silver Maiden's side to help her to walk.

The youngest walked up to Chris, still grinning widely and holds up both of her chubby hands at her. "The Lady Yuna said to watch over you and to tell when you woke up." She states, giggling as a boy runs out the hut. The others, a pre-teen girl and a ten year-old boy goes to attempt to nudge her back to the bed.

"You should lie down, I will make you some food, Lady Chris." The pre-teen girl states as she goes towards the small kitchen and begins to prepare food. The toddler trots up to Chris and giggles at her.

"What--oh?" Chris mumbles out, turning her head. The children are looked at with a surprise stare. She hadn't expected to encounter them here; she hadn't even noticed they were here at all. Her grey eyes blink a couple of times, as she looks at the three orphans. Then, she smiles slightly at the three of them. Using orphans to guard her? "Very well."

She takes a seat, then, and looks towards the toddler. She smiles once at him, and then looks over his shoulder and into the kitchen. The Silver Maiden sighs, then looks around. She is in a simple tunic and dress - clothing befitting a woman of the Besaid islands. She looks back at the kitchen, then.

"Why did... Lady Yuna bring me here?" she asks, calling out at the pre-teen girl.

The ten year old boy puts his hands on his hips and give Chris a good look-over. "I hope the clothes fit you, Lady Chris. Sis over there," He goes to point a thumb at the pre-teen in the kitchen, "will see that you will eat while Lulura," He points to the toddler girl, "will see that you are taken care of. This is my hut, ya?" He states beaming.

The pre-teen girl just shakes her head. "I cannot tell you everything but this I will tell you..." She states as she brings Chris some Besaidian tea. "... Is that to make sure that you heal properly." She spoke very quietly before heading back into the kitchen.
The toddler girl goes at once to jump unto the bed, next to Chris. "If you need anything just tell me, ya?" The girl states as she bounces a little on the bed.

"Oh... I see." Chris nods her head once, to the ten year-old boy. He would be in charge here - and while she feels strange taking orders from a child, she will not go against the rules of hospitality here. The platinum-haired woman offers him a small smile. "Thank you. I'll remain here until Lady Yuna arrives, then."

She takes the tea from the girl, then, and has a sip of it. She blinks, and then nods her head; it is good, though not the blend she is used to. "The clothes are fine, as is the tea. If you don't mind, though..."

She looks out of the window, for a moment. "...why did you bring me here?"

The pre-teen looks towards the boy and spoke quietly. "Shouldn't you be out fishing?" She then goes to bring Chris some chopped up fruits and bread. "It isn't much but here, eat and heal." She states before heading out of the hut, quickly followed by the boy, leaving the toddler behind. "To make sure that you heal properly, you are not a prisoner, Lady Chris. At least that is what the Lady Yuna told us." She looks up at Chris and nods. "You have to forgive my brother, when the Lady Yuna gave us the task of watching over you, he became very excited and wanted to do his best." She states as she goes to sit down.

"Ah... I see. I apologize. I must have been something of a bother for you, all things considered," Chris muses softly. She looks down for a moment, glancing into her tea. She swirls the liquid around a few times, in her cup, before she sighs and lifts it back up. She takes another sip of the drink, then grasps the fruit and bread. A quick glance is paid to the children leaving, before she looks to the girl. "Thank you. I admit that I'd wondered. Lady Yuna did not seem the sort to take me prisoner, but... the thought had occurred to me."

The children shakes their heads at once before the toddler grins widely once more. "Do you like the fruit? It only grows here in Besaid!" She states widely waving her arms. She blinks and shakes her head. "She isn't, all the time that you were in our care, she has been in the temple praying for you, ya." The toddler states but then stops as Yuna appears in the doorway of the hut. The toddler quickly gets off of the bed, bows the formal bow of Yevon and quickly runs out.

"She has?" Chris looks up, seemingly rather surprised. She shakes her head once. "I must apologize, then. I am most sorry to have worried her. The creature I fought had... done quite a number on me," she admits. The battle with Ixion is somewhat vague in her mind, but the pain is clear - and the result. Her men were brought down by the Death Corps. She shakes her head, then takes the fruit, and has a bite of it. "It's quite good, thank you. What is it called?"

The toddler nods rather firmly. "I heard that it's just the way that Summoner Yuna is like. You fought against one of her Aeons?" But by then Yuna appeared and the girl disappeared. The Besaidian Summoner looks at the place where the girl ran off to and then slowly back to the Silver Maiden. "It's called Jujan." She answers for the toddler. "How are your injuries? Not to grave I hope. I commanded Ixion to only knock you out but I didn't guess that it would have taken you this long to recover, Lady Chris."

"Mm... I see," Chris replies softly. The woman looks down for a moment; the guilty feeling from having fought the Death Corps at all has returned, compounded by doing battle with Yuna. She reaches a hand down to her side, where one of her worst wounds had been. She shakes her head once, and then looks up. As the summoner enters, the Silver Maiden offers her a reserved smile.

"I see. I am... fine, more or less," she states. "I suppose my injuries were worse than either of us figured." It may have been the lightning; those bolts of energy had proved dangerous and painful. "Your healing proved quite effective. I presume your own and Ixion's have also recovered?"

Yuna nods softly and goes to sit next to Chris. "Praise be to the Fayth for that." She spoke softly and gently. She can't quite help but to let out a small chuckle. "I thank you, Lady Chris. Yes, they have. Ixion heals with my own body." She states. She then looks Chris over. "I presume that the orphans that I assigned to you took good care of you. I sure do hope that Botz wasn't trying to boss you around."

"No, he wasn't," Chris states. She shakes her head, looking to her side and at the brown-haired summoner sitting next to her. She had only heard a little of their world and the role Yuna played, but she knew it to be important - her research made that perfectly clear, of everything. "And they did. However, I must wonder, why did you bring me here? I had fought against you."

Yuna smiles gently. "I am glad, Botz tends to try and boss people around. Though he can't really boss his older sister though." She states. Chris also seemed to be an very important person if only by the way her knights treated her. She blinks and tilts her head before letting out a small giggle. "Because, this was the safest place to bring you to heal. I don't know much about the world that we fought against each other in except by the way it looked. If I had left you, someone else might have found you and really took you as their prisoner." She then closes her eyes briefly before going to reopen them and looking into the soft gray eyes of Chris. "Your men, they seemed like Guardians to me. Your Guardians."

"That... is true," Chris states. Still, she had to wonder how this had shaped up. Had her men returned and informed them that Chris was taken away? Lord Salome would be concerned, to say the least. The Council... she would shudder to think of how they could put this situation to good use. She looks down, closing her eyes. "It is... not quite like that. My men are actually soldiers, underneath my command. We're all knights, sworn to guard the Zexen people and their federation."

Yuna looks away before guesturing towards the food. "Eat up, you will need your strength." She states. She listens to the other woman's words with an gentle expression on her face. "I see though I do not understand." She then slowly stands up and dusts herself off. "We should take you to the gate so you can return to your world, soon."

"Thank you, again, for the food." Chris continues eating - politely, but a good deal more quickly, now. She finishes the bread and the remainder of the fruit in good order, before looking back towards the summoner. She nods her head once. "Yes, I should. They are all likely worried about me. As well as the IPA in general..." She frowns once. "I will keep your involvement quiet. You have been kind to me, and I do not wish any retribution some of them may try to enact upon any of you."

Yuna smiles and watches Chris closely. "I can take you to the gate but I cannot follow into it. I pray that you understand. I can summon one of my Aeons to take you as far as I can take you before vanishing." She offers as she goes to head out the hut. She stops at the doorway. "Just please, don't let them send their forces here in Spira. That is all that I am asking." She states as she walks out of the hut.

"I would appreciate guidance to the Gate. I will do my best to see to it. However, should you side with the Death Corps again... we will have to fight you on ground beyond Spira," Chris states. She stands up, and dusts herself off. "I hope that you won't try that, again, Lady Yuna. I have no desire to fight you again, but if duty demands it, I will. How is it that you are tied to the Death Corps, at any rate?"

Yuna smiles a waves to the villagers as they called out to her before they smiled at Chris. She then begins her summoning dance once she reaches the center of the village. "I have no desire to fight you as well, Lady Chris. A promise I made to that man. I will tell you more on the way to the gate." She spoke as she continues her summoning dance.

"I see..." Chris nods her head, then crosses her arms. The summoning dance is interesting - and she scarcely had a chance to see it in full in battle. She watches, carefully, almost mystified. This is truly something one doesn't see often. However, after a moment, she looks towards one of the children - specifically, Botz. "Could you bring me my things?" she says, quietly. "I will need them when I am through the Gate."

Then, she looks back towards Yuna, and resumes watching the dance. An intricate, beautiful thing, if utterly foreign to the Zexen Knight.

Botz blinks, shrugs and walks back towards the hut. After a bit he comes back, carrying Chris's things and walks back to Chris. Yuna finishes her dance as a pillar of light surrounds her and then goes up into the heavens. After the light disappeared a roar can be heard as Bahamut flies down to land next to his summoner. Yuna walks up calmly to him and places a hand on him. "He shall get us to the Gate quickly."

The bag is taken from Botz, with a nod from her head. Chris smiles a little, then throws over her shoulder. The Silver Maiden looks back towards the summoning dance, and blinks as the Aeon descends. She stares at Bahamut, watching as the massive being comes down onto the ground - and watches in awe, as Yuna calmly puts a hand on the beast. "So I see... Are we to ride him, then?"

Yuna nods towards Chris. "Yes, we are to ride Bahamut to the Gate." She replies as Bahamut lets out a roar, spreading out his wings. The pre-teen girl quickly trots up to Chris and offers her a bag. Once Chris accepts it, she runs back into the hut without saying a single word. Inside the bag is freshly pick Jujan, a batch of the Besaidian fruit. Yuna goes to pet Bahamut as he lowers himself to the ground so it would be easier to climb him.

As Chris passes some of the villagers should she walk towards the Dragon King. They will give her warnings as to not harm their summoner and pleas to make sure that she will remain safe.

Chris Lightfellow nods her head to the villagers, smiling awkwardly as she does so. She won't harm Yuna - not here, of course - but they had been enemies. She climbs onto the back of the Dragon King, behind Yuna, and then looks down at the Besaidian villagers. She waves her hand, once.

Then, she looks back in front of her. "I am ready, Lady Yuna," she says. "Let's be on our way, shall we?"

Yuna reaches down to pet Bahamut a few times before he starts to flap his wings. The Besaidian's gather around to see and wave them off. "Yes, let's be on our way." Yuna spoke as Bahmut takes to the air. Bahmut circles the islands before flying towards the Gate. "That man... Told me what the leaders were doing to them."

"Yes... he told me the same," Chris says, as they lift upward. Her eyes turn downward. A bird's eye view is rare for her, especially of such a land. She pays close attention to it, regarding the entirety of the place. It wasn't like the parts of her world she had seen; lush, green, and nearly tropical. She shakes her head, then looks back towards the summoner. "However, if he is going to act against others in a similar fashion and harm them... then he is as guilty as they are. War is a brutal thing, and those on one side often have no choice but to see it through. If you side with him, you will have to fight those who are sworn to uphold peace. Are you truly willing to risk that?"

Yuna listens and looks back briefly as Bahamut continues to fly. "I still haven't joined the fight. I have another promise that I must see through. Even though, I don't wish to." She then goes back to looking forward before letting out a small giggle. "You have never flown before, Lady Chris?"

"A couple of times, in a craft piloted by Colonel Sheppard. But never... quite like this." Chris looks down at the ground, breathing in. Puddlejumpers had inertial dampeners and were enclosed - it was more like watching it happen, sometimes. She swallows, once, then looks back towards Yuna. "What is the promise that you've made, if you don't mind my asking?"

Yuna goes to focus on directing Bahamut and tilts her head. "Who is Sir Colonel Sheppard?" She then looks downwards and lets out a sigh. "To aid in the defeat of a man. To even go as far as to kill him. I truly don't wish to do so but... I promised someone that I will help and also, Anima wishes to fight this man again."

"A..." Chris pauses, considering their conversation in the arcade. She decides to be charitable, and smiles for a moment, though she looks away. "...friend of mine. You may happen across him, someday." The woman looks forward again, then, and her expression becomes more serious. "Who is this mean you swore to help defeat, then?"

Yuna giggles and nods. "I would love to meet him one day if the Fayth allows it to be so." She gets a serious expression herself and spoke in a very serious manner. "A very powerful person who kills just to get the person's soul and wield the soul in combat. His name is Shao Kahn, I fought him once before and lost." She then shudders a little. "I will warn you not to go near him, Lady Chris for fear what he will do to you."

"If it comes to pass, it comes to pass. I rarely choose my foes, Lady Yuna," Chris replies calmly, as she looks back towards the ground. "I will still take care, should I encounter him, however." She would also file the name of Shao Kahn away; a frown crosses her face. "I wish you well in that fight, however."

Yuna nods and then points up ahead. "There, we are nearing the Gate." She spoke as Bahmut begins to descend towards the ground. "Thank you, Lady Chris." She then blinks and smiles a small smile. "Not to steer away from our subject but, I do hope that you can visit Besaid Islands again, Lady Chris. I am sure that the ones who watched over you will love to see you again."

Chris hops off the dragon, looking up at him once. An immense thing, if there ever was one. She turns from the Aeon, then, and looks back towards Yuna. The Gate, in all of its splendor, had only been given a brief glance. "Perhaps, one day. Wish all of them well for me, if you will," the Silver Maiden says with a nod. "And be safe. Again, I hope that you will not be involved in the coming conflict between the Death Corps and the Zexen Federation. I fear the previous events will have cemented that course of action."
She nods once. "Farewell, Lady Yuna. Until we next meet."

Yuna slides off of Bahamut and goes to give Chris the formal bow of Yevon. "I will bring your wishes to them. I wish the same for you as well." She states as she remains bowed. Bahamut lowers his head to sniff the air around the Silver Maiden before lowering his head towards Yuna. "I will see what the Fayth will lead me to do, Lady Chris."

She smiles softly. "Farewell, Lady Chris. I will pray that the Fayth will smile upon you." She states as she slowly straightens and nods towards the knight.

Chris Lightfellow gives Yuna one final glance. She smiles once, nodding to the woman one last time. "Thank you, and your people, for caring for me." With those final words, she turns. Her pack is hoisted up, over her shoulder, as she begins walking towards the Gate. She stops at its threshold, looking up at the sheet of blue, rippling energy. She looks at it passively, for a moment, and then walks forward. When she hits the blue light, she is surrounded by white light and engulfed - and then disappears from Spira, brought to the world of the Hub.

yuna, chris lightfellow
