E.T. researchers blast Cowboys and Aliens for getting aliens wrong

Of all the problems we figured folks might have with Cowboys and Aliens, the one that never occurred to us was that the aliens hadn't been accurately portrayed. But that's what some E.T. researchers are saying.

On the ipad so El is responding.. :-)

I saw someone on my Flist complain that it was rampant with racism and sexism... And my first thought wass... Have you MET the American West?? I wish I could have gone last night because Steve said it was really a great movie.

Amd LOL really? Do these people KNOW how Aliens would be accurately portrayed? If they do, they know something we don't. LOL

Yay for studying... That does sound like a backwards placement, but... Maybe there's a reason. *shrug* Good luck with it. :-)

And Garrett will respond back. ;)

Seriously, someone doesn't know their history of the American West or that time period in general. *rolls eyes*

Thanks! :)

I know, right?

Too many people go to a movie and feel like they have to think any analyze it. What happened to just going to a movie and having fun?

The thing I noticed about the foot peddle is the forward-peddle is on the left side and the rewind-peddle is on the right side. I would have thought the placement of the peddles would be opposite: forward on the right, rewind on the left. I'm sure there's a reason for it.

maybe because the foot peddle goes next to the outer edge of the right foot & it would be easier to step in the forward button (which is used more)?

Having actually seen the movie (can I have Daniel Craig in chaps for Christmas, Santa?), the first thing that popped into my head is "what the hell are they smoking?"

And if people are complaining about sexism and racism? Did they make it to the end of the movie with all the humans actually working together? Did they miss Jake blowing up the bandit who wouldn't stop calling Alice a whore? Did they miss the fact that the men let Alice ride with them in the first place? Frell, the Indians (and I wish I could remember which tribe they were) followed ALICE. Gah, *headdesk*

Joan D. Vinge wrote the novelization, her first book since a car wreak, and one of the draw was how good all the characters are. It's on my buy it list.
