It's hard to believe that mini-me is going to be officially a teenager in five days (her b-day is October 5). We made it through the hormonal changes and I just have the 'I'm eighteen and an adult, I know what I'm doing' stage left. I'm sorta going through that with my son now. Which is why I'm glad now he can go to college and get into the AFROTC - I'm hoping they'll whip him into shape and he'll understand that he maybe adult age, but he doesn't think things through. Yeah, there's a story there. *facepalm*
We have an adjuster coming out today to inspect the new roof and our shutters. We're going to try and get our discounts on our homeowners insurance. If approved, we can get up to 50% off. The insurance companies are thinking of doing away with that (but that will take some time) and we're hoping that we'll be grandfathered in if their policy changes. That is, if they allow people to keep their discounts without threatening to cancel them...
Since I can't leave the house (he's scheduled to be here between 9-12), maybe I can get some writing done.
Got my little hands on the remastered Wizard of Oz yesterday. I tried to purchase it on my credit card, but the idiot cashier at Best Buy kept canceling the transaction and blamed it on my card. I kept pointing to the screen saying, "It's not my card, you're the one canceling the purchase." So I used my debit instead. Just in case though, I called the company and everything is fine. Yeah, dude, it was YOU!
I really loved the deleted scenes and Buddy Ebsen (the original Tin Man) singing "If I Only Had a Heart". I think I would have liked Buddy. There was also a jitterbug scene in the Haunted Forest that they practiced weeks for and spent tons of money only to delete it from the movie. They only had the practice shot and it was quite amusing to watch. The Scarecrow danced with Dorothy and the Lion danced with the Tin Man. LOL! See, Scarecrow/Dorothy is canon! Well, at least in the movie version. ;) I'll do some screencaps of that. There was also a triumphant entry back into the Emerald City. Apparently, one of the Winkie Guards escorted them back and they sang "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead and We're Off to the Wizard". I would have liked to have seen that, but they only had stills of the scene.
More as I think about it.
