We have seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi. We have now watched the second-from-last episode of the season of Star Trek: Discovery.
M and I fully agree that, of this particular movie and this particular episode, we preferred the writing and acting of the we-presume-far-less-expensive-to-produce Trek TV episode. Oddly (or perhaps not) we thought there were a number of plot and scene similarities between the two.
Mind you, I'm not speaking of the entire Discovery season -- which in my opinion was overall excellent, though much was rather dark (figuratively and, for some reason due to our TV, literally). I'm just talking about the one episode vs. the movie.
You'll notice I'm posting this on my teeny tiny blog, not on some huge major social medium. I couldn't take all the hate mail.
Anyway, we like Discovery and are already saddened it's nearly over for the season. We are somewhat "meh" over the fact that Star Wars has only one movie remaining in its series. (Possibly because they can find many ways to add more movies around the edges.) Or...they should have left it at the original three movies.
