"it's my dream to have a nice big bubble butt..."

So what else have I been up to in the last three years? I'm still working out like a fiend at the gymnasium. I've made some strides. When I got Cappy I lost about 11 pounds in three months because I stopped going to the gym to potty train the little guy. I went from 148lbs down to 137lbs back up to 152lbs 2-1/2 months later and I've sort of hovered ( Read more... )

Good for you Gary.... I think going home for lunch via bike is a great step. I don't have any pets just due to travel but I found that my travel is what actually provides me with a fitness program.

Do travel about on your bike? Or on foot? Or both? I don't have a car so it's my only real option unless I get lazy and take the subway.

When I'm on the road - it is either taxi, bus or foot. I drive here in Fort Lauderdale due to meetings in Miami, trips to the studio, etc.

Rarely do I have a rental car when out of town, unless I'm in one location for a few weeks at time. My boss and I shared a car on this last trip in Belgium. She and he husband were there for a month, and I joined them the last week before we sailed back to the UK.

When I have gotten really into working out, I did experience the diminishing return of being less and less satisfied with the results. This was in my 40s. In my 30s. I really did not care so much what my body looked like so long as it did what I wanted and did it well. This is when I got into the martial arts. Now in my 50s I would like to get a small portion of both goals.

I think a really important goal is for you to derive as much delight and pleasure in your body as I am sure everyone else does.

I would not bother with bulking up.

A critical demon to be conquered is to let go of the demon who wants to be 20 forever. That is simply not part of the design. Being 20 had its issues as well.

LOL. When I was 20, I was 95 pounds soaking wet. I think as I get older I need to put on more weight, people who are thin when they are older look OLDER, I want to have a full figure with as little wrinkling as humanly possible. Thin looks good when you're in your 20's, it doesn't look good when you're in your 50's you look frail. LOL.

I swear I need to move to Boston and train with you. I'm still so skinny that I'm invisible when I turn sideways.

I need to work out. Seeing this pictures is making me realize how little motivation I have and what I can achieve.

The question is do I need to go running after work or do I need comfort food right away? lol

LOL! No comfort food (well moderation anyway). Eat all your heavy bad carbs before 2:00pm (including breads, pastas, juices and sugars etc.) Hopefully you're active enough to burn it off.

Start taking vitamins! They give you bursts of energy when you need it most: Vitamins B12 can get me to the gym when I have zero initiative.

Running sucks though, it's bad for your knees, ankles and your hips. Use the ellipitcal and if you don't belong to a gym. Do the ghetto prison work out: push-ups, burpees, jumping jacks with your Barbie's dumbells in each hand and jump some rope. "My mother and your mother were hanging up clothes. My mother punched your mother, right, in the nose! What color was the blood!?"

Your skinny, you can only go up! Coming from the other direction is a bitch!

There is an incredible difference in your quads from the July living rm pic to the Dec/Jan pics. Stunning.

On a side note, I love the height at which you hang your artwork. Too high up on a wall makes me crazy.

Kudos all-round.

LOL. Thanks. I'm trying to ditch those 1880 engravings--too well 19th Century. I've got a nice modern abstracted piece there now. Jeff game me those musical drawings in the background. They're just prints but they have sentimental value to me.
