As many of you know, I play in a fantasy-themed boffer LARP (Knight Realms). My main character there is a blacksmith, who makes ... stuff. Weapons, armor, gear, you name it.
One of the oft-overlooked aspects of the game is the "gear" category. Everyone has swords and armor, but who in the party has the ubiquitous 50' of rope? The 10' pole? The lantern & torch?
Rather than go out and buy this all myself, I'm going to post here and set it up as a Wish List of sorts. For Christmas, I'd be happy to get a pack of classic D&D adventuring gear, with the following guidelines to help:
- The items need to be safe for a Boffer LARP.
- The items need to be period for a fantasy game, or reasonably close (i.e. - no blatant plastic or modern logos).
- I'll take care of the "Torch" (make a boffer) and Lantern, since they will need to integrate with my current setup specifically.
- Things I can think of to include:
- The pack itself - preferably a roomie, or compartmentalized, backpack, preferably black.
- 50' Silk Rope. (He's a High Elf. Hemp is for lesser races.)
- A 10' Pole, preferably sectional / collapsing so it'll fit.
- Manacles, LARP safe and not blatantly intended for intimate uses.
If you can think of other things an adventurer should have, go for it!
