I want to start capturing the good things as they happen so that I can look at them when I'm in a time of trouble (shout-out to the Beatles, yes, even though I'm generally not a huge fan) and smile.
1. Passover with mom's college roommate's family in Newton last Friday night. Best part: when Levi (the leader) asked me to speak briefly on the importance of Moses, a "broken" person, being chosen by God to lead the Israelites a "broken" people. Basically, why is having "broken" leaders a good thing. LOVE THAT SHIT!!!
2. A confession, kinda dirty. I clicked with my roommate's friend who is staying here this weekend and spend quite a few hours with him on Saturday chilling and stuff. He's a sweetheart and it was nice to be appreciated for once, unlike last weekend when that irritant from NH spent 3 days trying to turn my flatmates against me. Nice try, buddy. They love me.
3. I'm becoming more of an adult when doing work-type stuff, including bargaining with "our" bar's owner. He wanted my team's labor, I wanted a spot for our art show. We both got what we wanted in about 15 seconds.
4. Mass was amazing tonight, even if I did leave after the homily. Which was, to me, pretty much about being Christ for the poor around us and giving what we can, when and where we can. I hope I'm doing that at least partially and can do better in the future.
5. I LOVE THE SHOW CATS!!!!! It's SUCH an upper!!! The music isn't really sing-able after the show, like you would never hum it for the most part, but it was still fun to watch and energizing. I hope to carry the positive energy that I'm feeling into the week with me.
6. My new parish (CATHOLIC PARISH, PEOPLE!) has a Rainbow Ministry. Which I'm sure you can guess is for the gay folk. I hope that someone pulls back the curtain and reveals Judy Henry at the controls, because Saint Cecilia's is seeming too good to be true. The RAINBOW MINISTRY is organizing a church trip to the Boston Gay Men's Chorus DIVAS event in June. It was listed in the BULLETIN. WTF?! Jenn- should I invite SHECK!?!?!? hahaha, i'd lose all the people who might be my friend.
That's it. Time for bed.
Heart,
me
