I tried to go to the CD/Game Exchange yesterday to get the new Matchbox Twenty CD. It was one minute to 8 and they closed at 8. I got the door opened about halfway and the guy came out, said they were closed, and shut it in my face. Grr.
In my attempt not to hate the store (because there are not enough small CD shops anymore) I went back today. They don't even have the Matchbox Twenty CD - most of their CDs are used (which I knew) and the ones that are new are all rap. I don't know why. I did manage to find a Damnwells CD marked at $5 that they (accidentally?) rang up for $2.50! They are forgiven for last night's incident. If anyone wants cheap CDs, the CD/Game Exchange in Tenleytown has a LOT of $1 CDs. They are unsorted so you'll need time to look through them but I think it'd be worth it.
I still don't freaking have the Matchbox Twenty CD. I'm SO close to just downloading the new songs but I really wanted a hard copy because I don't like the death of the tangible album. I'm giving this till tomorrow and then if I still don't have it I'm downloading. Why I didn't run around on Tuesday to find it is beyond me.
I've said it before, but I really like The Damnwells. The album I purchased today is their first CD and it's unpolished (as they say on their website, they recorded it in two places: at the lead singer's house and in a storage unit). It's still great listening. I'm trying to remember who I saw them open for in Eugene. Hm. One day I'll have to see them in concert again.

PS: And also, The Damnwells have a link to
this site on their homepage. I don't know why and I love them.
