ONLY FIVE WUT. Fine, we'll go old school and choose my favorites for 2009 into 2010, not including my newest ones. Or my oldest one (taito for life, G!).
1. When did you first fall in love with ship number 1? (Stan/Kyle)
Uhhhh, so I followed kinky-chichi on Deviantart (know her? don't know her? Go check her out) and she kept posting things like this, this, or this, and I eventually caved and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I didn't actually watch South Park until like, all this happened (I mean, I'd seen one or two episodes, but hadn't understood the fuss. It mostly seemed gross). Then I got sucked into fandom and the show about simultaneously, and I haven't looked back since.
...and you know everyone loves a little style.
By that I mean style is a canon ship, and obviously best friends who go from love/hate/love so easily are impossible not to adore. (But then so is k squared. My otp decision is still a little skewed in that fandom).
2. When did you fall in love with ship number five? (Kendall/James)
Uhhh...well I always liked it, and if I hadn't indulged in fandom immediately after discovering BTR I probably would have been on that ship from the get go. But I kind of let myself get peer pressured into kogan, and it wasn't until about half way through Here Be Dragons (roughly when Video aired) that I let James Maslow possess my soul.
3. What is your favorite moment of ship number 3? (Joe/Nick)
...All of them? So, I put that I'm shipping the Lucas boys because I technically don't do rpf, and by technically I mean I read it like a mofo and then denydenydeny. I think the best part about joick is the fic- that's what really sucked me in- there are some rockstar writers in this fandom, if you know where to look.
And then there's pictures where the boys look like they're posing for their wedding photos, so idek. There is nothing not to like here.
4. What will the ship be if you take the boy from ship 2 and the girl from ship 1 and mesh them? If one or both of the ships are slash, then pick and choose. (Stan/Kyle and Marcus/Oliver)
Ooh. Okay...I'm gonna go with Stan/Marcus, because Marcus is like a less devious form of Cartman, but he'd still be all assertive and let's-kill-everyone and Stan would be like peace-love-ganja man, and eventually Stan would mock his accent and Marcus would tie him to a chair and...ummm...yeah, how bout we just not?
5. Viceversa? (Stan/Kyle and Marcus/Oliver)
Kyle/Oliver. Oh god, they'd have boring domestic love where Oliver is like, a sports obsessed submissive husband and Kyle an intellectual and total spitfire in bed, and eventually Kyle would begin acting like a fucking conquistador and his evil tendencies would begin to show and there would be spousal abuse and then he'd go crawling to Stan so that someone could tame the fires of his heart because Marsh doesn't take shit from anybody lies but he won't take shit from Kyle unless he really deserves it and Oliver would have some kind of Stockholm Syndrome and go back to Marcus, because really he was just using Kyle as a filler-in anyway.
6. What's your favorite moment for ship 4? (Arthur/Merlin)
Stop asking that with ships where I love EVERYTHING, god. Seriously, only Joe/Nick and Arthur/Merlin are like, constantly flitting around touching each other and being in love every minute of the day, and you can't ask these questions with another ship that doesn't reaffirm their love every five seconds? But since you asked, probably where Arthur comforts Merlin about Freya and gets preoccupied about being fat.
7. How long was there between the time you got into the fandom and the time you started shipping ship number 3? (Joe/Nick)
It was instant. Tbh, I mocked the Jobros with my whole heart until I was bored, watching the Disney Channel, JONAS came on, and I was like hey, these brothers are mighty incestuous. I went online, expecting to find zero fic, but found teamjoick within hours, and the best authors in the world within like, a day. It was the quickest descent into fandom I've ever experienced in my life.
8. When did you start shipping ship number 4? (Arthur/Merlin)
I thought they were adorable together from the get go, but I began to read fic around mid-season one (in the US, so spring 2009), but I then got super distracted by rpf and probably didn't start shipping them actively until this year.
9. Take three random people from three of the ships and create an OT3.
James/Nick/Arthur, because it would be like, an explosion of pretty and arrogance and conceit. Nick and Arthur never want to lose at anything and Arthur and James think they're the prettiest, and there would be squabbling and sex all around.
10. Rank your OTPs in order.
Ummm...no. Style, Oliver/Marcus, and Taito are my oldest ships, but Style and Taito are what I shipped for the longest period of time. But Merlin/Arthur and Joick have the best fic, and Idek. I can't.
