Two drabbles, a song, and a very Merry Christmas

Happy Christmas Eve!

The last two drabbles of the Twelve Days of Christmas challenge are as follows:

Pairing: Harry/Hermione
Word: shelf
Sentence: Must you apply logic to everything?

Hermione shivered from the cold and dug her nose into the scarf around her neck. She glanced at Harry, walking beside her, who, to her utter envy, showed no sign of being affected by the weather.
Snow was falling softly like feathers, landing on her hair and robes. She wanted nothing more at the moment than to be back in the dormitory, drinking pumpkin cider and cuddling up the book on she had left on the shelf next to her bed as she read herself to sleep last night. She was seriously considering convincing Harry to head back in, but suddenly noticed he wasn't walking beside her anymore.
Splat!
Something, heavy, slushy and freezing cold had hit the side of her head without warning. Hermione took a moment to recover as Harry's laughter rang from behind her.
The next moment Hermione had scooped up a handful of snow and thrown it at Harry as well. But he ducked and she missed. Hermione pouted as Harry gave another laugh.
Within moments the two were engaged in a full-fledged snowball fight, their squeals and shouts filling the air around them.
"Come back here, Harry and stop dodging!"
"It's not my fault you have lousy aim!"
"Then why are you running away if I'm bound to never hit you?"
"Must you apply logic to everything?"
Splat!
"Yes!" Hermione shouted in triumph as one of her throws found their mark. Then she was running, full of giddy adrenaline as Harry rushed to her, wiping precipitation off the side of his face.
"Gotcha!" he yelled as he tackled her and set them both sprawling to the ground.
It took them a while to catch their breath. As they lay there together, Hermione hoped that winter would never end.

Pairing: Lily/James
Word: electrified
Sentence: none

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry stood silent and strangely empty on Christmas Eve night. Most of its occupants had long gone home for the holidays, and those who were left had all snuggled down in their beds by now, to dream of tomorrow and all the pleasantries of the near future.
One boy, however, was awake and sat staring out the widows of his dorm at the moon overhead. He leaned his forehead against the cool glass and closed his eyes, feeling a strange sense of nostalgia wash over him. Then, he reached over and put on his glasses, before extracting a leather bound book from a nearby table. Fondly, carefully, he opened it.
The page he was looking for had but a single picture. The boy took out a wand, tapped the picture, and muttered something, then propped the book up against a cushion. A light shone out of the page, directly onto a white stretch of wall, creating a cinematic scene there as a movie projector would. The boy sat down on the floor, and watched.
A man with dark, messy hair was talking to a young woman underneath some mistletoe. They were laughing as the man reached over to embrace the woman around her waist trying to plant a kiss on her, but she kept eluding him. Their laughter was silent, but their eyes were not. The boy watched earnestly as the woman suddenly turned and met her lips with her partner’s. They stood in perfect bliss, before springing back as though electrified when a third person-a good-looking young man with dark, smooth hair-popped up and began to tease them. The three then began to laugh together, occasionally waving to whoever was on the other side.
There was a movement from the other side of the room, and someone muttered in their sleep. The boy swung his head around, slightly alarmed, and ended the spell. He then peered fondly at the faded photograph, thumbing the caption underneath.
Lily and James Potter, Christmas, 1979.
With a sigh, the boy closed the album, padded over to his bed, and lay down, dreaming not of the future, but of the past.

I don't have time to translate it, but it really is such a sweet, Christmas-y song that I had to put it up. I hope tomorrow is a lovely day for everyone, full of the best things in life. Happy Christmas!
