Eurovison tragic...
So SBS television just showed the first semi final for Eurovision. It was lots of fun. Australia gets to vote in an unofficial poll, and although we've not seen all the songs yet, Greece and Serbia came no. 1 and 2 respectively. Not sure if Greece came no. 1 because of the large Greek population in Australia, or the attractive men with the low cut white shirts prancing around onstage. Thats what did it for me.
I have to also single out Belgium's song - which was lovely. Just a man and his guitar on stage - no sparkly stuff, no stunts, no dancing men/girls. It would be quite scary to hold such a big audience.
Roll on second semi final.
Beards
I wanted to clarify something I said in my last post about men with beards. I thought about it a bit more, and I realised it was more about the stubble look than actual beards. You know....like Viggo in LOTR. duh.
edit: now Serbia is ahead of Greece in the unofficial Australian Eurovision poll. I suspect it's because of the singer's hair.
