we remember those who have fought for our freedom

11/11...veteran's day. UMass lowered the flags in front of Memorial Hall and the ROTC provided 2 army people to stand (at attention) on guard all day (maybe all night?). there was a 21-gun salute as well. **a moment of silence**

alright--continuing on. i'm updating for all my friends who are bored and like to read ljs...

i spent *crazy* amounts of time studying from saturday through tuesday (i KNOW i saw the library/josh more than i saw my roommate during this time). i hope i did well. i'm too scared to find out. (i know..i'm a pussy)

i've been mostly doing school-work...not really anything of excitement. bah...i know something must have happened that i can entertain you all with. ahh--yes: after my exam tuesday evening i went to hasbrouck to hear avraham burg (former speaker of Israel's parliament, geneva accord negotiator) speak. he was really awesome...kept our attention for almost 2 hours, was funny, well-spoken (although he's got an Israeli-german accent, so sometimes it was hard to understand him) and he was just really awesome to hear from. i can't wait to check out his book! tuesday was a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG day...12 hours w/o seeing my roommate (tear, tear). it was really funny...i went to the burg speech and sat with some friends. we left and they all ran to catch a bus up the hill (b/c they were too lazy to walk) and they didn't really say goodbye..so i'm walking back to brooks and my cell rings. it's one of them, saying that they didn't say goodbye, so she was gonna pass the phone around so everyone could say goodbye. it was hot: cell's being passed around the bus...i felt loved.

wednesday was my first day that i wasn't studying for chem (yay!!)...i had an interesting convo w/ stephanie (from the 4th floor) a/b schindler's list/american history x..we're gonna watch AHX on saturday night (thanx paul for lending it to us!) i did some work so that i wouldn't have a ton to do today and otherwise, i kinda just flopped around. we ordered calzones at like midnight...yummy!!!!!!! there's (almost) nothing better than cheese tortellini w/ pesto sauce calzone.

i SLEPT today...i like sleeping. did some work...actually i was very productive today. very proud of myself. i didn't finish all my calc OWLs, but that's ok b/c he'll re-open and extend the deadlines and all that. erica and i went to boyden. yay erica!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok--funny story time. hope you all laugh at my ignorance: i'm talking to my friend Debbie and she's telling me that our friend Paul is trying to complete a GTA mission. and i'm like: "gta?" and she says: "grand auto theft" and i'm like: "is he? well..you tell him none of us are gonna bail his ass out of jail". well..ok...so i didn't realize that GTA is a video game...and like...i thought maybe paul was drunk or high and that's why he was stealing cars. so, yes, that's my funny story. i hope you're rolling on the floor laughing.

ok--if anyone (laura, kendra, alyssa, jess) wants to go to sweets...let me know!
