Ah, where's the Guide-? I could've sworn I put it in my pocket earlier, and now I can't find it- oh, here it is!

[There's a bunch of scuffles as the Guide gets shuffled back and forth before coming to rest in his hand.] Oh, uh- I have a question for some of you! [You can hear Shin moving along from place to place, it seems like he's busy with ( Read more... )

[He laughs at this, amused.] You're always so willing, Fai-san. Yes, that would be wonderful.

[locked]

If it's at all possible, I'd like to apologize.

You're certain? I've yet to tell you what I wanted to apologize for.

[There's a hesitation in his voice, like he's a bit surprised that someone is so willing to forgive him, of all people.]

Yes! I was just looking at the calendar the other day, and noticed it. It's easy to lose track of time here, on the Thor.

Of course, your assistance would make it much more like home. I think that would be something comforting to come to and celebrate in.

Yes, it is. [It's about five months now since she arrived]

My mirror... meet me in the park. You can give it back and we can being planning out everything afterwords.

Yes, of course. I'm sure the more difficult decorations will be left to us, rather than the residents. After all, we remember what it was like.

[Hello, have a kid from another planet who has no idea what a July or Japan is.]

... I didn't understand half those words but, it's a festival right?

[asfhjsafvbjhasfhkjg Hope you are adorable.]

Ah, yes! It's a very big festival for our country, that celebrates the stars, and how people are connected, even across long distances. Or, that's how it goes, so I've been told. The story behind the festival is interesting and a little sad, as well.

The legend goes that many years ago, there was a prince and a princess who lived in space. The princess was named Orihime, and she was a weaver, who made beautiful clothes for her father, the king. She worked hard, and was very diligent, and it made her father very happy. But she was worried she would never meet anyone or fall in love, because of her work. So her father arranged her to meet the prince, Hikoboshi, and marry him. Hikoboshi was a cow herder, and he did his job well ( ... )

I would be grateful, Ran.

It is merely an apology I wish to give, for not revealing my true self to you or Fai-san earlier. I wish to remain among the mortals, as it allows for me to understand them more then being a goddess would.

I am the last person you would ever need to apologize to, Izanami-no-Mikoto. As a youkai, I understand.

...There sure is a lot of people from Earth--well, Earths on board the Thor, huh?

What's with the wish-hanging? Is it a wish for yourself, or for other people?

[DO YOU HAS IT, LUKE?]

Ah, yes! I noticed that too, when I arrived.

It can be for anyone, really. Yourself, family, friends, for good health, a job, happiness- it's whatever comes to mind. We hang the tanzaku all together on bamboo once we're finished, and let the stars see the wishes we've given to them.
