If you really think everyone on this ship has been diligently keeping their jobs, awful as they were, even when they had been randomly assigned by the guides-- for no reason at all, yes. Take the risk. Be sure to let me know what happens.

Quite often the threat of punishment can be enough to keep people under control, though of course I'm aware there would likely be some unpleasant consequence to shirking one's 'responsibilities'. It's just a matter of ascertaining how unpleasant, and how high my probability of avoiding it may be.
