To all of those interested in learning general first aid:

The Preventers organization has asked me to teach the basics of first aid this month to anyone who may be interested. I am sure most of the people on the Thor know of what first aid entails of, but as a precaution, I will list the aim of it here ( Read more... )

What about disinfecting and cleaning the wound, or caring for the wound until it is fully healed?

I clean it when I first wrap it up, but then I usually just leave it alone after that. It usually ends up okay.

Yes, that works for most common injuries, but deeper wounds would need to be treated with more care.

Do you treat your own wounds regularly?

I've only had help once or twice [when he had to actually go to the hospital] but otherwise, yeah.

You need to be more careful. It sounds like you've accumulated a fair number of injuries over the course of your life.

We've had this conversation before. If you do not care for your body by preventing as much injury to it as you can, it will crumble away.

All right.

Since it seems you already know a fair amount of first aid, you won't have to attend any of the seminars until the end of the month. Unless you'd like to attend regardless.

Once I figure just how much first aid needs to be taught to everyone who is interested, I'll send you a schedule with the planned lessons so you can decide when to come. Is that all right with you?

I appreciate the thought, but the paperwork is part of my job.
