[The video feed turns on to reveal... a space lion. But not just any ordinary space lion; no, this space lion is currently impaled on a tree

No. I should be able to handle this on my own. All I need is information on that man. I have discovered that he is on the Loki at the moment, but past that I do not know much.
Anyways, he has a temper and thinks that children - which is anyone under eighteen years old - shouldn't be subjected to dangerous situations no matter how capable said 'child' is. He tried to tell Karen she couldn't go to the Sigrun, which is why I got into it with him.
[And that lets things slide fully into place. She kinda figured, given what she knew, but know she KNEW. Her expression grows serious. There are some things Mima taught the witch very well...]
If there is no evident reason as to why he did it there is only one real reason, Patchouli.
Abdomen. From what I have gathered from the event, it was not meant to be lethal. He could have easily aimed for the head or heart if he wanted, yet he didn't. He did not want her dead, just... hurt.
An act of vengeance is always a level higher than the act that causes it. There is no such thing as an eye for an eye and anyone that says so is a fool.
[It's been a while since Marisa's been this serious or had to think about these things. It feels weird and she finds her accent slipping a bit.]
Silver to the gut... This act of vengeance wasn't to hurt her, but to make her suffer.
It does except for one thing - by taking refuse on that ship as he did, he forsook enjoying Remilia's suffering. He left before knowing the extent of that suffering.
There had to be more to it than simple vengeance. Another involved perhaps...
I will be honest. Vengeance is not something I know too much about.
...However, another i talked to talked about the fact that he had a girlfriend. This person was someone with whom Remilia had been previously... involved with. I have a strong suspicion it may be related to that incident.
...need me? My magic's back.

I am not sure that fact has anything to do with why he did what he did, however.

Vengeance.

Hm. So he had a grudge against Remilia. I figured as much.
What I want to know, however, is the nature of that vengeance.

Though given Remilia's personality, it was most likely specifically meant for her and not directed at someone else.
[pause] Hmm... Where exactly was she shot?

...he's not here, is he?

She shot her roughly a half-hour before its departure. He intended it to be an escape, I bet.

[Marisa looks offscreen for a long moment, mulling things over.]
No. I don't think so.
