[The feed comes on and there is a slight shuffling sound, but the video is blackness. After a moment you can hear a tiny, sobbing gasp. The video resolves with the little light available, and you can see the dim outline of a bed, and a shape that is perhaps someone curled up under the covers. So assuming Holmes or someone let him in, John will be knocking on the door to Canada's room.]

Canada doesn't stir.]

Canada? It's John.

J-John. Sorry- I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to t-trouble you... [Darnit, Kumajirou.]

And- e-even when I went from staying with France to being with England, at least- a-at least I knew where Papa was--
[Tearing up again he sniffles into his blanket for a moment, then looks at John hopefully.]
D-do people have m-medicine for this?

That depends on what the problem is. Can you tell me what happened?

Um- I... was going to m-meet J-Jasmine today. But when I w-went... she- she's not there. She's ...[he glances at where Kumajirou had left his Guide near the foot of the bed] not anywhere.
[After some shuddering breaths and a gulp he continues,]
I was really upset when Shuuichi left too... But th-this-! I- I feel ...sick. [He says it disbelievingly - there is no longer an economy that can crash, so how can he feel so sick?]

It's okay to feel overwhelming sadness because you miss her. I know it hurts though.

So... this is what it's like, then? I- I really don't think that the movies or books do it justice...

No... no it doesn't.
And n-nothing but time helps?

There are drugs that would numb the feelings, or knock you out so you could sleep, but the feelings will still be there when the drugs wear off.
[He sits back in his chair. It's probably obvious that he doesn't consider something like that to be a good idea.]

He listens carefully to the doctor's advice, and does indeed pick up that John thinks that the drugs would not be a good idea. Still, he sighs slightly and sinks under the covers a bit more, looking at John nervously.]
Something to help me sleep... I'm sorry, but... if- if I can't sleep tonight, may I call you again tomorrow?
