No. But largely, I think, many lovers don't get a happy ending-- because they choose not to. Some endings are inevitable, perhaps-- but not all failing relationships are doomed.
Therefore, I think the best thing to do is treasure what you have while you have it. You never know when something can go wrong. [Like your planet burning up from heart burn.] And breaking up with one lover isn't always a bad thing. It could even lead you to a better happiness with someone else.
