I played rugby when I first got into college. Played for 2 1/2 semesters in the mid-90s. I had a blast even though I didn't play many matches. I was a whiny kid out of BFE Munford and hadn't quite gotten used to being around the city folk and all.. :)
I met Stacee and rugby went to the wayside. I still watched it when I could see it on TV which wasn't often. When Lisa and I got together, they were showing it on TV and we would watch it. Got several favors out of rugby matches. ;) I always talked about playing again but was either scared or worked shows so was not in any shape or had the time to do so. I talked up several people to go to games and it just never came to be.
So, I get a random invite to play touch rugby after thanksgiving. I go out there and have a blast. I did find out that I am not nearly as bad off as I thought and I still have good hands and decent feet. I have been sore ever since. I decided that since I have the strength already, I need to get the endurance back. I am going to try to run/walk each day or at least every other day.
Now I tried this today and well... I was stupid.. and jumped the gun and didn't warm up and know better when i run on concrete me body hates me.. the track is about a mile away so I can walk there for a warm up .. do my laps.. and the walk back to cool off. It is a 1/4 mile track so 12 laps would be 3 miles. The goal is to increase the number of laps I can run each time I am out. I will work on time once I can handle the whole 3 miles,
This is the plan.. now to keep to it.. of course anyone who would like to join me in this endeavor .. I wouldn't mind. ;P and all you have to do is walk cause I will see you shortly.. ;P
