Should I Try to Move These Two Plants, Or Plant Around Them?

The north side of my house is almost entirely shady, with just the western corner of that side receiving sunlight part of the day.  Some moss started itself there, unplanned and unbidden but entirely welcome.  Someone on this community suggested to me, years and years ago, that I consider making that area into a moss-and-ferns garden.  At that time, I had already planted one Tennessee ostrich fern, one Japanese painted fern, and a heuchera, and there was the moss, so I decided to go with the suggestion made, and have gradually added another fern here or there in that bed and am letting the moss look after itself.
The painted fern and the heuchera were close enough to provide some visual interest due to the contrast of both colors and textures, or so I thought: the heuchera took off like a comet or a rocket and has sort of obscured the painted fern simply by growing faster.  If you push the leaves of the heuchera aside, you can see the painted fern which looks healthy, just not dominant.

So here's my question.  I'm not the sort of gardener who's happy about having to do a lot of "hand-holding" or other fussing to maintain a perennial, although I'm willing to do a reasonable amount of preparation work in order for that perennial to be able to establish itself easily once it is planted.  I don't garden "for show" other than that the garden beds look nice, and I hate having to fuss over plants.  Knowing a little but only a little about both ferns and heuchera, should I just leave the heuchera overpowering the painted fern, and plant additional painted ferns nearby?  Or should I attempt to separate and replant the two, farther apart from each other?

Thanks in advance.
