my google-fu has utterly failed me. i can only seem to find information on how to amend existing soil. i have no existing soil. i have an empty raised bed waiting to be filled with the appropriate soil for blueberry plants.
it seems counterproductive to fill the bed with regular soil, test the soil, and add sulfur or other amendments, and wait a year for the PH to be adjusted. yet this is the only information i've been able to find.
since i am starting from scratch, i should be able to build an appropriately acidic soil for the blueberries to go straight into, right?
what would i use to create soil that is appropriately acidic and ready to go?
my raised bed is 4' x 12', and will be home to multiple blueberry bushes when this is all done. so i want to do it right, from the very beginning.
